@x19: Okay so here is the game I'm trying to remember:

I had it on the gameboy colour it's a top down rpg where you shoot enemies and have better weapons collecting key items to get to the next level. The storyline is that you're in this huge war so you use the time machine to go back in time to prevent the war. You go through various levels at one point battling vampires and stuff then at the end you go back to the future only to find instead of preventing the way you've just made the other faction win and gain power instead. Great game would love to play it.
