@efesell: That's the only mini game in FF9 I don't remember absolutely hating tho admittedly, I've never been good at any card games and I sure wasn't good at that one. Not saying it was great, I just remember thinking, wow, this game is pretty cool but literally every mini game is ass. The frog catching one? The chocobo treasure hunt in the overworld? The other chocobo treature hunt in that one location? The card game is def better than all those. I can't say I liked it but I'm not mad at it enough to get rid of something someone somewhere probably likes. If you like the other ones, seek help.

  • Get rid of all the mini games except the card game.
  • Add a line of dialogue “yo, that castle has wings!” during the CG Alexandria scene.

I think I just about fixed the game, you’re welcome!

  • Now, this is a bad idea but what if they added an optional VO? (I think I hear ppl booing)

Look, if any FF is getting the FF7R treatment next, it's FFX damnit. It's right up there in popularity and arguably more popular in Japan. Don't joke about this, it's deadly serious!

My guess is a shoddy Chrono Cross Radical Dreamers level "remake."

I think Tetris Effect has the same feature. I did picked up Lumines Remastered sometime ago for old times’ sake and noticed the rumble and thought it was pretty cool.

@brg: ppl keep telling me not to play RE0 but I’m really considering it cuz it’s the same engine and look and I loved REmake so much.

It’s absolutely absurd they haven’t addressed this. The only thing that would make sense is that they are explicitly being told to not talk about it.

Played it only a few years ago myself and was endlessly impressed by how well it’s aged. God, I wish we could have had a REmake2 in this style even tho the one we got is great.

Don’t you know it’s impossible to praise a game without shitting on another?

As far as I saw, it was mostly ppl saying how great of an open world game Elden Ring is and the point of comparison happened to be Horizon FW as a “traditional” open world game due to their proximity of release.

@topcyclist: well, those are 2 games or 2 series. We can go down the list of AAA titles and I promise you, you are pointing out outliers.

I liked to see thru games and a common complaint I have is that a lot of games aren't as good in the back half as they are in the first half. I often notice games are buggier as I get towards the end, performance is less optimized, pacing dies, things are a lot more repetitious, production values go down and things seem generally a lot less polished. I think developers are totally aware most ppl don't roll credits on games and it seems to me, generally speaking, games are developed with this in mind, at least that's what it seems like me. Perhaps it's not what the developers want but ppl that fund games know this and force games to ship before games are evenly cooked.
