Liara T'soni Kotobukiya Figure Review!

So if you're not aware, Kotobukiya is a Japanese figure creator, that does a variety of manga related statues. They also do western superheroes like Catwoman, Ms. Marvel, Phoenix and so on, but using an anime aesthetic. They also did Batman for the Batman Arkham City collectors edition statue. It was announced that they would be doing Liara T'soni, and when the first images were released there were a few complaints. Namely the size of her breasts.

No Caption Provided

The original sculpt had much larger breasts then Liara does, and after the complaints, the sculptor reduced them to look more natural. I got my hands on the figure pretty early and I did a review. I have to say it's actually pretty fantastic. Check out the video below and tell me what you guys think:

Edit: Added pictures of my collection as per request. I am indeed a nerd. Confirmed:

I like how people are getting defensive over Liara's original design. Like Asari aren't already the creepiest aliens in Mass Effect. I've never seen where the supposed sexiness is coming from.

Besides, why Liara? I'd much rather have something like Wrex sitting around my room, and this is coming from a man with several ponies strewn about.

I'm glad I never spent any money on those super special editions of games that come with figures cause they look real cheap and plasticky.

The Batman and Assassin's Creed one are great. The Uncharted is pretty bad though.

I've still got one in the original box that came with my SFIV special edition. That C. Viper was ROUGH. ugh.

How is it creepy? The inspiration for the design was kind of great, they're supposed to look like women emerging from water.

Just picture her blue.
Just picture her blue.

It's like that scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High with Phoebe Cates climbing out of her pool. It's a concept that people subconsciously find attractive. They could have gone a whole lot of ways with the Asari but I honestly think they did a pretty great job. The Mass Effect universe needed their own "Orion slave girls" and it would have been a cheap ripoff to do the exact same thing except in blue.

Nerds acting bewildered toward another nerd for being nerdy in an apparently unacceptable way. Oh, the lulz.

I really like the Catherine figure and the One Piece figures. I think I would prefer a bit less stylization on the Liara figure, but to each his own. :P

Way to take one of the strongest, most admired feminist characters in video games and reimagine her through retarded, infantile Japanese sexuality.

I don't want to sound like i have the wrong idea of some folks.. but i never expected complaints about breast size on an anime figure.

At least they didn't make her 12 and put her in a school uniform with a ridiculously short skirt.

This is relatively inoffensive, it's just an anime version of the character. Like others have said, if you romance Liara in ME3 her bust is even about the size of the original figure too. But yeah, considering this is what Japan does to Western creations, no one should be allowed to complain about Kirby's eyebrows.

That'll be the Miranda figure. I'd set my watch and warrant on it.

What exactly makes her a feminist aside from being a female...? I don't recall her giving any speeches about equality, or any pro women (or mongendered species in her case) rants.

@LiquidPrince: Shunya Yamashita is a genius, but you should've known better than to start a thread like this on Giant Bomb.

I find it hilarious ironic how BioWare states they want to keep their "artistic integrity", then they allow something that's specifically panders to the weeaboo audience.

Meh. The few people that enjoyed it, it was for them.
