That is incredibly fucked up, tons of people rely on that site to promote themselves and get work. I really hope artists get reimbursed somehow for this.

I view it as an alternate universe of Rapture considering there's no mention of anything at all related to BioShock 2 in either of the other two games. I felt like the whole infinite universes thing helped BioShock 2 more than it hurt it because pretty much justifies its existence. On the topic of BioShock 2 being good or not, I think it's a solid game. It's just a shame it had to be BioShock 2. I think literally everything about the first game was better besides the graphical fidelity but BioShock 1 was so much more inspired so it kinda doesn't matter that textures look better here and there. Everything about BioShock 2 felt like an unnecessary sequel that was just going through the motions of aping stuff from the first game and not doing anything clever or interesting with it. Like...yeah, you can dual wield guns and plasmids, I never found that to be a huge advantage to just swapping in the first game. It's not like there was some crazy animation when swapping between guns and plasmids, it was instantaneous. I also found the atmosphere of the first game to be totally lost in the second, part of its because we know the deal with Rapture. You explore it pretty thoroughly and learns its history in the first game. The other part is because you're a 10 foot tall lumbering Terminator, kinda hard to feel vulnerable when you're way bigger than your opponents and you're covering in armor.

I wouldn't say they've rewritten Miller, they've just expanded his backstory. Kaz is a pretty knowledgeable dude exactly like Master Miller and he helped train Solid Snake alongside Big Boss so it's believable that him and Big Boss have some history together that we never learned about.

@razorramen: I'm pretty sure that restarts only count if you reach a game over state. Don't quote me on that but....fairly sure.

No, it also counts when you hit "Restart from checkpoint". You have to restart the mission if you screw up.

As for getting S-ranks, getting one for the Ground Zeroes mission isn't really that hard. You can actually get caught at least once and kill a few guys and still the S-rank. I think I had a time of like 28 minutes, this was the second time I got the S rank and I was pretty surprised by how easy it was. There's a cliff side near the starting point, that allows you to completely by pass the guard tower and guards near the fence. You can then sprint towards the next guard tower safely but you'll probably have to stop in the bushes to hide from the searchlight and the jeep that drives by. The guard in this tower seems to randomly spot you, I've tried it so many times when I first went after the S rank and I still have no clue what sets him off so I'd suggest just tranquilizing him. Then getting to Chico is pretty easy(go through the front gate of the prison camp) and from there on, it's pretty straight forward to get to Paz. Two more things: remember to shoot out lights and don't immediately extract Chico, set him down in the little cave by the extraction point and then go after Paz. Bring her back and extract both at the same time. This will save a couple minutes easy. Oh yeah and turn off the flashlight on your silenced assault rifle.

The only other mission I S-ranked is the Intel Operative Rescue and that one is pretty simple but can be a huge pain in the ass. Just equip that stun gun and abuse auto aim to shoot everyone. Don't worry a guard falls off something and dies when you shoot him, it doesn't count as a kill. Using the rocket launcher on the tank doesn't count as a kill either just be careful about splash damage because there'll be knocked out guards around there. And when the chopper shows up, shoot the two guys inside with the stun gun and you're good. You'll also have to aim down the sights for some shots so it's just a matter of getting accustomed to that.

P.S. Another thing I forgot, turn off reflex mode. It detracts from your score.

I just realized...no one has actually posted the tape in question...you know, the thing everyone is talking about but it seems like almost everyone has not listened to it or understand its context. You kinda have to play the game and see the story for yourself to better grasp why the fuck is this awful shit is happening.

I played a bunch of it last night and the main mission again today, trying to get that S rank. I love it. The gameplay is a perfect evolution of the MGS gameplay, the sound design is fantastic and the lighting is probably the best I've ever seen in a video game. I really love the new style cutscenes, no cuts, all one long "take" and they seem much shorter and to the point than ones in previous games which I'm totally on board for. This is a hell of an appetizer before The Phantom Pain.

I don't retroactively change my GotY so games I played later on or if my opinions on the games change over time, I don't count it. I see the GotYs as like time capsules of that year, what was I most into with video games in that year.
