There has been a games industry scene in Chicago since the 1990s. We at the Giant Bomb community specifically owe quite a bit to the Chicago games industry, including John Vignocchi and our very own Patrick Klepek. Here are some of the publishers/developers that still reside in the Chicagoland area today.
Founded by the man who invented Halo. The developers of Disney's Guilty Party, Hail to the Chimp, and Stubbs the Zombie.
The developers of Tony Hawk: SHRED and RIDE.
The developers of F.3.A.R., Fracture, and the two MechAssault games.
Of course, the developers of Mortal Kombat. Also, Blitz: The League, Game Party, John Woo's Stranglehold and Smash TV.
The developers of The Conduit games.
