Metagame...Games I Haven't Played!

List items

  • I feel like a criminal for not yet playing flower. It's exactly the kind of silliness artiness I generally reward, and I'm absolutely certain the only reason I haven't played it is that it's on PSN. At such a short length, I might even tackle this title over my break.

  • Gosh, I wish I had a PS1. PaRappa looks like an absolute blast, and I hate the PSP. I'll probably buy a copy on Amazon sometime soon. I wish it had multiplayer, though. (The art on the card for PaRappa, by the way, is AWESOME.)

  • Okay, so playing the original Gran Turismo might be a little weird, but what if I told you I'd never played another Gran Turismo? I'll probably just start with the original and then play GT4 or 5. I know people are seriously disappointed in 5, but that's partly because it's just iterative on 4, right?

  • I have the HD collection with Colossus, and I look forward to playing both. I never actually found a copy of ICO, and Colossus always just had such a bad frame rate on the PS2 that I never got around to it. On the PS3 it runs silky smooth.

  • See above. I always liked it, but the improved frame rate will drive me to actually see the character arc that's been spoiled for me so many times.

  • Okay, so I've played Duck Hunt, but only for a little bit. I never had a Zapper as a kid or a copy of the game, so I played it once at a convention where both were supplied. It was all right, but my time with it is extremely limited. I think Duck Hunt is in the deck as a joke, to be honest. Time Crisis would probably be a better fit.

  • Again, I've played this one. I've actually played a lot of this one. But not enough where I'd feel comfortable talking about it. I'm planning to buy a copy for my SNES over the break. Until then, I'll be talking mostly about MK64 and MKDS.

  • Oh, man, this game is SO FRUSTRATING. As a kid, I played a lot of this one, but its crying baby absolutely ruined my experience with it. I'll go back as an older and more tolerant adult and either enjoy it way more or way less.

  • Never actually played any version of Punch-Out!! Will happily pick up a cheap copy of this, either for my NES or off the amazing Wii Shop.

  • Never actually played Nintendogs! I don't really feel bad about that, either. I've owned Tamagotchis and played Hey You! Pikachu, and I've never really enjoyed them. That said, this one probably works a lot better than most of the others.

  • So I played the Gamecube counterpart and never looked back. Is that wrong? I've heard this cited as the superior game. I'll get my hands on a copy if I find it at a reasonable price.

  • Well, I won't be playing it on an Apple II, but I'll find a way to play the original Prince of Persia. I've also got some familiarity with The Sands of Time and the 2008 reboot.

  • I played a version of The Oregon Trail. It was a very long time ago, though, and I'd feel bad passing any knowledge on the title. I'll find a version SOMEWHERE, I'm sure! This is apparently specifically in reference to the 1971 version.

  • I've only played SimCity 2000 and been EXTREMELY confused. I'll give the original a shot, as I've heard it doesn't involve roadways or plumbing?

  • I played an edutainment version as a kid, but I have no idea if it's a remake of the one this is referencing. This is referencing the 1985 release.

  • Never played Myst. Not sure I feel bad about this. My dad loved them, though.

  • I wonder if I can find a good version of Rogue. I can find roguelikes, sure, but the original Rogue? No idea.

  • I've only played WarCraft III! I wonder how different WarCraft II really is. Reducing to two races would do a lot.

  • I have played minutes of Diablo, and a few hours of Diablo II. I never cared for either, but I could be compelled to play them more.

  • Okay, I've played the first 10 levels or so of WoW, but I've never gone the full nine and leveled all the way through. I absolutely hate the gameplay and the subscription model. If the subscription fees ever go away (or at least lower!) I'll be down to try again.

  • This is specifically in reference to the 2002 PC/Xbox release. I always thought this game was weird. I kind of wanted to play it, though!

  • Thank goodness it's not Ultima Online. This I can find and play with my dumb computer skills.

  • I really wanna give this a shot. It's less complicated than Civ, I'm sure!

  • I've fooled with Zork, but I've never actually played it for more than a few minutes. I'll give it a shot someday.

  • Of course! I'd never tried a Civ game until Revolution, and I've gone back and played some Civ IV, but I've never played Civ III. I'm assuming it's still ridiculously overcomplicated?

  • I've fooled around with an arcade machine of Dragon's Lair, but I've never gone through the game. I'll have to watch a playthrough to experience it anytime soon, right?

  • I don't own a copy! I've never played it! Is that a crime? Most people would say yes! But I don't think I like adventure games much...

  • There are so many Worms rip-offs! I've played a bunch of them! I'll give the original a shot one day, though. I like these games to begin with.

  • I can't play this game. Well, yet. I'll learn its language someday.

  • If I've ever played this game, I've forgotten it. Too bad. I'll find a way to actually play it soon.

(Also, another amazing bit of card art here! Probably my favorite.)

  • The 88 release. Man, this would be weird. Luckily, I don't care much for modern football games, so I might enjoy this way more.

  • I've played the first couple of levels of Rez, and done the same with Child of Eden. I'll finish both someday soon.

  • I never saw the actual game of GTA III. I just ran around, shot things, and used a tank cheat. I was in 4th and 5th grade at the time. However, I played through all but the last few missions of Vice City, albeit using cheats. I love Vice City.

  • At one point I owned the original Half-Life, all of its subsidiaries, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike. I never booted up any of these games other than Counter-Strike, and I couldn't navigate Steam or get the game to run on my old PC. It was a huge bummer, as that was a major Christmas present. I was in 6th grade at the time. I never got around to the original Half-Life, and my time with its legendary sequel was less-than-stellar.

  • Maybe one day. But it's not a priority to me; it seems like I might just find it dated, applying most of its innovations to my experience with Fallout 3 or BioShock.

  • I have not played through the second two discs of this game, although I have watched them. By the time I got to the second disc, my copy had broken, and I could no longer finish the game. It was a sad day. I'll play it again soon.

  • The classic Tekken? I mean, I've tried it. I don't much care for Tekken as a fighter, but I can spend more time with the original, I guess. I've played some Tekken 2, though, and that's great.

  • Specifically, this is in reference to the arcade version. I don't actually know if I've played Pole Position or not! It's a weird feeling.

  • Never played it. Watching the Nostaglia stream made me want to play it. 'nuff said.

  • Never given it a shot, though it's been on computers for ages. I wonder why? It seems like junk to me.

  • While I've never played the original Burnout, I've played Burnout 2, Crash, 3, and Paradise. I'm probably good, but I guess I'll find the original sometime?
