This is definitely Kessen (PS2) for me. I never had a gaming PC until my late twenties, so being able to zoom in and see individual soldiers fighting (poorly) was so cool for me.

There was also this really neat customization system wherein you could choose from many commanders before each battle, each with their own number of troops, weapons, and special maneuvers.

Finally, it has my favorite feature from any RTS I've ever played: every time you issue an order to a unit, they cut to the commanding officer, who would then choose to either follow the order or refuse it. It was very theatrical and so fun.

I miss that game.

@jjbsterling: I got you, friend. I'm also in SAVE, so I'll keep an eye out for your name. Any times that work better for you? I'll keep you in mind for future runs.

I'm on PS4, unfortunately. I do know a guy, though. His name is Transwave, he plays on PC, and he loves to sherpa first timers. If you were to message him on the GB Destiny discord, I'm sure he could help you out.

Hey gang, I've been thinking about setting up a game for people who never completed a Leviathan raid before. Our lives are busy, and there are probably lots of people who missed out on the chance to run these raids back when they first came out.

Well, now's the chance! I want to run with up to 5 new raiders, who never got the chance to complete previously. I have plenty of experience, and will guide us through the encounters. I'm very patient and believe in a low-pressure approach; most important is that everyone is laughing and having fun.

If you're interested, drop a line. I'm thinking we'll get together Saturday, around 5pm PDT, on PS4.

See you starside, Guardians!

Hype, thanks Lives. I was at work, so I didn't get a chance to catch any of this. Did you see Gambit in action? Any thoughts about it?

Hard to find groups through the GB forums, honestly. Might I recommend the GB Discord? They have an LFG tab, could be worth a shot. Though they're usually all playing PUBG, fair warning. Otherwise, there is a pretty active Reddit community for GTA:O, which you might have better luck with.

Good luck, duder. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Traditional reviews just don't do much for me. I'd much rather listen to a podcast from people I trust, or watch a quick look, and suss it out from there. Review scores only have weight because we, collectively, give them weight.

That said, I'll probably never stop saying, whenever Polygon gives a game a score over 7, "well I guess it's better than The Last of Us". It's just too fun to stop.

I haven't seen anyone say this exactly yet, but I think the thing is being able to empathize with a bad character. Joel was a bad man... Or was he? What would you do if you walked in his shoes? Kratos has done awful things... But I still feel bad for him!

Pain is humanizing, and having an empathetic relationship with a character can really make you like someone that doesn't necessarily deserve to be liked. Just look at Niles.
