I always brace myself when they start talking about Europe like it's a country. I don't know anything about how schools work in other countries than my own, though, so I'll let this one go.
Matt is correct that, at least over here, elementary schools and high schools have multiple vacations during a year: one week at the end of February, one week in May, six weeks during the summer, one week in October and two weeks around Christmas and New Year's.
THEY TALKED ABOUT VEGETABLES! :-D I'd been playing with the idea of writing to the Beastcast to ask if they could please talk about vegetables for a change instead of all that fast food, but now I don't have to do that anymore. Granted, it was very brief, but at least I know they are aware of what vegetables are.
Having read all the comments (not the deleted ones), shout out to @sethmode and @orion1189 for more or less reconciling the opposite sides in this discussion. That conversation was interesting to read and I feel my personal opinion was reflected in both views. It's the reason I never give up on comment sections. It might take some time, but there's almost always a good discussion in there somewhere. Respect to both of you for finding a way.
