@Sackmanjones: Space Quest 5 for the PC. The oldschool DRM is on pages 17 and 18. Classy and classic! Here's a link to the PDF to view the entire thing. They also have a kickstarter project going.
NES for Mike Tyson's Punch Out. SNES for Final Fantasy 2 Atari Lynx for a proper version of Rampage. Neo Geo for Samurai Spirits 2. 3DO for Return Fire Playstation for Resident Evil. Saturn for Guardian Heros. N64 for Smash Brothers. Dreamcast for Power Stone. Game Cube for Pac-Man Vs. Xbox for Halo.
Haven't bought a console since, as the hardware became junk, greedy collector's editions that provide garbage and fluff, High console game prices while providing less value/content like no more nice booklets / cheaper thinner cases, game content cut for $DLC, and more restrictive DRM that assumes paying customers are criminals.
Yet they charge for premium memberships and subscription fees. Hey, once they've got their money why should they bother listening to our requests? and it shows... The last 3 TNTs have been disasters with boring games and chat begging them to switch the game to something more interesting/fun but the GB crew always manages to stay the course plugging whatever piece of crap came out that week. Stay classy!
$299 to import a copy of Samurai Spirits 2 for my new geo back in 94. $80 for the collector's edition of WoW in 2004. $65 bucks for a mint copy of Guardian Legends off ebay in 2005. (saturn version before the remakes)
These days I'm willing to wait months for steam sales and GoTY editions. Current games are just not enough of a value to warrant full retail prices when they butcher them with $DLC.
I could have posted early, but the rap was so bad I had to go out to a club and listen to top 20 pop in order to wash the bad taste out of my brain. Stick to your day job kid, it's not rap, nor is Jeff Gerstmann a role model lol.
