1. The important issue here is that your college probably has a policy regarding the recording of lectures and your roommate should check to see what it is. Violating it could result in his expulsion (assuming he's caught.)

2. If English isn't his first language then he can probably go to the department head and get permission to record the lectures, many colleges will make exceptions for students in such situations.

3. As Lazyturtle has already pointed out, 'One party consent' refers to the legality of recording private conversations, not to things like public lectures. Even if it did, being in a one party consent state would mean that the law was in your roommate's favor.

So you probably get to be a rogue agent fighting the mean 'ol mega-corporation? Bite me Starbreeze, part of what was so great about the original series was that you were the mega-corporation.

The sexual orientation of the protagonist wouldn't make any difference to me.

Giant Bomb is the first gaming website I look at on a regular basis.  I originally checked it out after reading an article about what happened to Jeff Gerstmann while he was an editor at GameSpot and how he and some coworkers had started a competing website.

Take it out back and put a damn bullet in it already.

 Hope the kid that started the fight gets expelled.  Not because he started the fight but because he seems to have started it so that his friend could record his unprovoked assault and post it later.  That sort of premeditated stupidity is a sign that the resources spent providing him with an education could be put to better use elsewhere.

I think you should.  It will lower your expectations so that Dragon Age II won't be such a disappointment.
