Top listed lists

These are the thirty top-rated lists as of November 1, 2010, along with some bonus commentary. I originally intended to critique each entry, but found myself enjoying them a lot more than I expected.

List items

 • The original and still the best, Brad dies like nobody else. For better or for worse, this list is Giant Bomb.

 • This sort of list is actually quite common on Giant Bomb, but Jeff's inclusion of Johnny V, Chie Satonaka, Shaq and Mr. Domino and the codenames assigned to each character helps set it above the rest.

 • Because someone had to call out Peter Molyneux. And Jonathan Davis. And George Broussard.

 • Lists focusing on the Giant Bomb staff are pretty common, and this one is no exception. It's kind of creepy how obsessed with Ryan DanielJW appears to be, but he redeems himself with the inclusion of pages like Fragile Floor, Fat Girl in Ohio, Left Hand and Earpiece Conversion. It's a bit of a stretch, but it works.

 • What do Star Raiders, ketchup, George Washington and Segata Sanshiro have in common? They're all on this list. There aren't even ten items on the list, but it does a pretty good job of showing what the wiki has to offer.

 • Alma Wade. Mike Tyson. Kratos. Navi. The dog from Duck Hunt. Admit it, you wouldn't want to be in an elevator with these characters either. Each item is documented, and the list is a joy to read.

 • This kind of list is a dime a dozen on Giant Bomb, but BenderUnit22 provides a table of entertaining ratings. Who is the funniest Quick Looker? Click through to the list to find out for yourself!

 • A simple concept, but incredibly useful. Games are sorted by event date, with links to view the archived show. If you missed it the first time, check it out now.

 • This is one of Giant Bomb's oldest "best wiki pages". No justifications are provided for any of the entries, but most of them speak for themselves. It's worth noting that "DS Microphone Use", was originally titled "Blow into the microphone to look like an idiot in public". Hopefully that clears up any confusion.

 • This is not just any top 10 games of the decade list. This one was created by the one and only Greg Kasavin. Each list item is accompanied by a detailed justification of its inclusion, and it is worth reading even if you don't find yourself agreeing with Greg very often.

 • Another odd one. But really, what is the deal with bathrooms in video games?

 • Dave Snider enjoyed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl more than Fallout 3. Agree? Disagree? You should check out this list regardless.

 • Another silly list, but it includes Hironobu Sakaguchi, which sort of legitimizes it. Or something. Did your favourite make the list?

 • One of the quests on the site asks you to hunt down classic RPG monsters. These are not them, but it's a good list. If you're playing a fantasy role-playing game, chances are you'll encounter one or more of these not-so-classic baddies.

 • Another one of these? Absolutely. But this list's focus on concepts really helps highlight the bizarre nature of video games and Giant Bomb.

 • This was a list before Mafia II came out.

No, no. Don't be discouraged. There are still plenty of games on the list in need of a sequel. Will they get sequels? It's doubtful, but a man can dream, can't he?

 • That's right, there are ten! And they're all... interesting. I don't blame you if you don't want to look at this one, but... Well, you'd really be missing out on a fascinating list. I'm serious!

 • Good comic-based games aren't easy to find, but they do exist. Whiskey Media Designer Extraordinaire has put together a list of some of the his favourite comic-based and comic-inspired titles.

 • Three times the fun with Dave Snider! Back in the day, he would draw Legend of Zelda maps on graph paper. Check out the list for this and other anecdotes about games that Dave actually managed to complete more than three times.

 • TF2 fans can kill him now.

 • This is the first spin-off of Brad: Quick Look Start to Death Time, this time featuring Jeff Gerstmann. No, it's not the most original list. But there's just something appealing about Jeff being killed by Nazi-space-robot-Pacman-ghosts.

 • Get 100 points for punching a horse in the face, return the game. Then try to beat Mega Man 9 five times in a single day. Ugh, achievements.

 • In addition to looking like Dexter Morgan, Giant Bomb's Drew Scanlon has also worked on some vidjagames. I'm actually not really into this list, but 23 other people seem to like it.

 • At this point, Dave could use a reboot. You're getting stale, Dave!

Actually, this is a pretty good list. Check it out.

 • Typically Game of the Year Awards include such categories as Best Story, Best Graphics (Technical), and best Australian-Developed DS Game. Those are boring. For 2009, Pepsiman instead decided to get abstract, presenting awards for "Best Game Inspired by the Spirit of Tim Allen's Home Improvement", "Best Game with a Long-Ass Title that Didn't Require the Words 'Shin Megami Tensei' or 'Raidou Kuzunoha'", "Best Comic Book Game Since Spiderman 2 to Remind Us that They Don't All Suck", and "Best Game to Prove Why You Shouldn't Label the Video Game Medium as a Whole as Art". I look forward to 2010's award show!

 • Jeff Gerstmann gave The Guy Game a score of 7.5. That means you can safely ignore this list.

 • Jimbo_N has assembled a list of folks in the industry that he admires. It's worth a read.

 • "Specifically I'd like to become an ominous floating head and torment the Giant Bomb crew as they turn on their electronics." Wouldn't we all? If you read only one list of locations today, make it this one.

 • Britney Spears makes three appearances on this list. If you read only one list containing three appearances of Britney Spears today, make it this one.

 • Dave Snider wrote seven of the lists in the top 30. So it's somehow fitting that this list close with a list of games that would be improved by Dave Snider in the lead role. There really is no better way to close out this list. If you read only one list of games which would be drastically improved with a protagonist that looks and sounds exactly like Dave Snider today, make it this one.

Haha. This is great and informative, showing me various fantastic lists I didn't even know existed. Thank you for this. Also, didn't know you could make a list about lists.
