The Bombcast went FREE!? Outstanding! I am now 100% happy with my having purchased a annual subscription. GB did right by all of it's fans by making the cast free to everyone. Thanks guys!
GB has to make a living. Don't want ads? Become an annual subscriber. Other ads they have had before were for Halo and Gears. The one and only area I see that they made a mistake with the subscriptions was the splitting of the Bombcast.
The reforming of the Bombcast needs to happen, NO MATTER WHAT. This was a massive mistep in the creation of the paid subscriptions. This is one of those situations where everyone looking in can see that it is a mistake, but those at the heart of the matter, can't. When Sony announced the price of the PSP GO at $250, everyone on the outside could see that as a mistake where Sony could not. (Not to pick on Sony, but) when they announced the original price of the PS3 at $599. Everyone on the outside could (again) see that this was a mistake.
Guys of GB, I hope with the amount of quick and negative feedback to this one choice, you realize that it was a mistake on your part and correct it in short order.
I get the Bombcast on iTunes and am an annual subscriber, but I am sure you will not be able to get me my paid for "current" two hours in that form. In which case, even as a member who has paid for it, you have fucked me over on the Bombcast as well.
My number one reason for signing up for the annual membership was to support the fab four at GiantBomb. The most respected and trusted video game journalists in the business. The self destruction of a particular gaming website a couple of years back, that lead to the creation of GB proves they are honest individuals who you can believe when they tell you anything about a game.
