I really enjoyed the game and was touched by it at times. I especially liked the relationship that Chloe and Max had (although I think if I were Chloe I wouldn't have accepted Max back so quickly and fully after she didn't contact her for 5 years, but hey, that's maybe just me).

I'm fairly happy with how things turned out at the conclusion, I liked the idea that Max was destroying the world by messing with time (chaos theory) and all she had to do in the end was go right back to the start and not meddle but ultimately watch her friend die.

However I do feel the ending was a bit rushed. If this had a sixth episode I think it would have had better pacing overall.

I'll buy the next season when it comes out for sure.

One thing the game really has is beautiful art - but that's where I'm letting my hype start and end. It's a beautiful game, there's no question.

My only worry is that the procedural generation is based on templates, like Spore was. I think the player will have an truly unique and immersive experience discovering things on their starting planet but I think disappointment may start to set in when you visit the next planet and find it's the same as the first, except it has a pink sky and the sheep things have three eyes instead of two but look distinctly like the first sheep things you already discovered on your starting planet and proudly named "buttsheep".

I hope I'm wrong, I hope there are lots of unique things to discover but I fear it might be a little repetitive if it's all procedural.

I also hope people don't use silly names for things like "buttsheep". It will never be funny.

I think it will be $40.

I'll gladly pay $60 because my urge to explore means this game is going to swallow me up more than most $60 games. Anything under is a bonus for me.

Also, for fucks sake, the game is procedurally generated, not "random."

The galaxy has been created, everyone experiences that same galaxy. There is a mathematical formula that generates the world. If someone else visited that same spot before you, the game would have generated that same world the same way. If they move something on the planet, the formula changes and when you visit it next, the world is generated by the new formula so that you see the thing they moved.

Nothing is "random." Everything is already there. It's just a matter of how the data is stored within a formula and how it's generated once you get there. That's what procedural generation is in No Man's Sky.

I don't think the worlds are so persistent in the way you are thinking. I think when you name things on the planet that's the only permanent mark you'll leave.

I could be wrong though but I'm sure they covered that already.

The variety of comments in this topic so far is fascinating. For a game where almost nothing has been shown of the actual game, there sure are quite a few people already convinced it's worth $60.

That's what was going through my mind reading the comments.

Some people really do build themselves up for a big disappointment. Reel your expectations in guys, they haven't shown very much of anything yet.

Great work here fella. Very interesting.

I'm surprised that Dan's 5 star review percentage is the same as Jeff's even though he's done about 250 less reviews.

And I would have to agree that some more reviews would be great. Maybe a few video reviews too as they haven't done one since Skyward Sword...

To me this is a very transparent move by Gamestop to perpetuate their exploitative trade-in practices. They key phrase is Austin's write-up is "buying it back from them for a pittance" which is scandalous. What's worse is that is the consumer who keeps doing this.

If digital prices were in line with retail I would be all digital by now. But they're not, they charge MSRP to keep retail happy. I really wanted to get MGSV digitally but it was £20 more expensive to do so, which is ridiculous. It's about time the manufacturers stopped bending over for retail.

Anyone ordered the LE from Game.co.uk? Got my confirmation Wednesday about my copy being shipped. Should only take 1-2 days from my house. Got a email today about a delivery confirmation for September 1st, which suggests they are holding back my parcel.

Anyone else got this? If it was the standard game, I am sure I would have gotten it early.

I ordered the standard edition from GAME and it hasn't arrived today.

GAME used to ship so the game came a day (or two) early but they don't seem to do that now. They have a notice on the site for MGS5 saying that all pre-orders had to be in by 1pm Friday to guarantee the game on release day. I assume they are shipping the title on Saturday for delivery to customers Tuesday, which is the release day so you can't complain with that. However it wouldn't be the first time I haven't had a pre-order title on release day from GAME, even without bank holidays to worry about.

To be honest, if we get the game Tuesday it will still really be 3 days early for UK customers. Games should really come out on a Friday in the UK, as-is the norm. I don't like change...

I don't recall ever getting a treasure key from an Ether key chest.

If you are looking for treasure keys turn in the queens bounties - I think you are guaranteed 1 treasure key per week that way.
