Game of the Decade (2010s)

At the beginning of this decade, I was still in high school.

At the end of this decade, I was in graduate school, pursuing my dreams, halfway across the country.

There were also some good videogames.

List items

  • I was lucky to play Undertale only a couple days after release, before I heard anything other than "you need to play this, right now." Very few games have made me cry the way Undertale did. What a beautiful, wonderful thing, with memorable characters and perfect music.

  • Help I've fallen and I keep falling

Currently at almost 1500 hours in KSP, probably more hours than I've put into any other game in my entire life except for Unreal Tournament 2004.

  • Hatsune Miku should have given up on music, this is where the real money was.

  • SimCity 2013 eat shit, this was way better.

  • Gregg rulz ok

I grew up in a Rust Belt city and a lot of the post-industrial decay of Possum Springs is depressingly familiar. I don't know about the ending being the greatest, but the characters are the real draw here.

  • I'm a nerd.

  • Unique, fascinating, hard to put down.

  • A game that gave me a feeling of discovery and tense exploration that I hadn't had since Minecraft.

  • Living up to the Harvest Moon games I loved on PS2.

  • Excellent, short, beautiful.
