actually to clarify it was chapter 0. right where you have to make a run for it after the diner. i noticed dick was not with me so went back to where he was on my mini map and it just showed his name and a dead zombie. since he wouldnt follow me and i couldnt see him i just went on without him and it let me progress. ever since then though he is not visible. im just going to try and play the game anyways and hope this doesnt mess something up in the long run. booooooo!

lol... man thats pretty sick. certain places in the world its illegal to euthanize an animal. you see a lot of wild dogs running around but they are not mean, just kinda lazy. its when a human gets involved and puts them in a cage and basically tortures an animal that it becomes mean. like PETA they put down around 2000 cats and dogs a year i read. funny how they rationalize it... well not funny but obscene really.

i thought this was the dumbest thing ever. they dont 'glorify' in it in this game. its pretty basic. there is only 2 whales you can hunt, and one is random. i wish they would of expanded upon the harpooning. they just give you a taste of it. one of my fav. things to do in video games is to fish. i love it! they should of really expanded on it making it a whole big side plot. start your own fishing company. not just harpooning but netting, fishing etc. and up the fish by like 50 hehe. imagine if you could kill dolphins? i think PETA would of started throwing fish guts on the ubisoft employees. i hear bad things about peta anyways, like the euthanize A LOT of animals. thats murder.

I spent hours just fishing in the game Yakuza 3 and 4. Yakuza 4 was really good. You could catch a ton of fish and it is pretty challenging to reel some of those bigger ones in. Expect a 10 min battle or so and one little mistake and your line will snap. fun fun fun, and the mystery is great, dont know what you got till you get it to shore.

@oldirtybearon: I agree. I thought ac 3 was the best, i loved brotherhood also that game had the best missions but was short, more like a filler. anyways in ac 3 it was brilliant you actually got to play as conner the child and grow up, thats a rare treat in a game imo, also how they started you out playing conners father thinking you where a 'good guy' just to find out you where a templar/'bad guy'. and who couldnt love the big classic battles against the red coats. i mean you had all the classic battles, even the paul revere the 'british are coming' scene. classic... ac 4 just dropped dead on the story scene and main mission, its all about the whole pirate life. which is fun, but its lop sided. sad, as this could of been great instead of just good.

get up aside of them and aim with your round ball shots, then let go of aim and let loose with your heavy shots, follow up with taking out the vulnerable spots then repeat. so your best bet is to upgrade your armor and your heavy shot asap. for money head to the south seas there is a royal frigate that is worth 10k and its easy to take down once you upgrade a little bit. usually in the S by SE area not marked on your map though. I found for legendary ships least the ghost ship best way to it out is with upgraded round shots and keep fast moving around it just using round shot and blowing up the vulnerable spots between shots. must have full armor and weapons for legendary ships though. maybe mortars are the way to go for them but i burned out after upgrading armor and broad side cannons.

not sure depends on what you like. they made a big leap forward with the open world and its a game in its self with upgrading your ship and the harpooning and hunting to upgrade your char. but it feel flat on its face to the point where missions in the main story are just flat out repetitive and frustrating, its just the same, tail target, eaves drop, then assassinate over and over again. id call it a fail as i like games for the main story over the side quests. so all in all i had a better time in ac3, but its pretty close just because its fun to listen to pirate songs and upgrade your ship and take on some legendary ships etc... so open world fun factor 5 out of 5. main story quests, 3 out of 5...

I dont mind the story, its pretty good. the thing that makes me want to give it 3 stars is the actual missions in the main story. its the same freaking thing most of the time. tail target, eaves drop, assassinate target. such a let down, i was expecting some sort of cinematic experience in the missions but no. same thing over and over again with the occasional ship battle or some little chase scene. bah! such a let down, its like they put all the effort in the sand box experience and left the main story missions simple cut and dry, its like AC 1 with the missions, they degenerated in my opinion. sigh, just freaking got frustrated with the main story missions! love the open world etc though. anyone else notice this?

it is a veeeery large game. ive done most side quests and faction quest plus just finishing up on dead kel, im at 64hrs so far, ive been taking my time though, i like to listen to all the voice acting, even if its repetitive there is still good varity in there, surprised how much voice acting must of went into this game. i still have a few areas to explore on the main island and havent even made it to the last area yet...plus still need to go through the teeth DLC.

ive been pretty addicted once i got into it. first time was a might build when it first came out now im trying the mage. as far as side quests go just take the ones that sound intresting to you. some great content in some of those, and choices you can make. way better than the ones in like wow and FF reborn. starting to slow down a bit once i got over the initial revere of the game tho. great graphics even now though, and i love how every char in the game is voice acted, thats pretty damn rare in a game this size. im going through the DLC content now.
