I picked this up on steam to try after a ton of going back and forth. I enjoyed myself for the most part but it just didn't grab me enough to pull me away from my normal multiplayer shooters (primarily siege/pubg) and I ended up refunding it. If it were free-to-play I can likely see myself putting in a handful of hours but still probably not playing enough to get really good.
The games [lack of] personality didn't really help and everything outside the gameplay (particularly UI) just felt like it was missing that last level of polish.
@john-luke: It does have voice chat (was added not long before launch) however the issue is it is either on, or off. There's no push-to-talk which is stupid as hell. I think I read the devs were listening to feedback on that one since a lot of people took issue with it.
Played quite a bit of this when it was in Win10 open beta and it's a really solid game. Hope it does well for them though I feel the MOBA moniker will do some damage despite this being much more action (and not lane/creep) focused.
Jeff said it best, crash mode was a cool mode in a game that was otherwise a complete package. Burnout was awesome because the racing was awesome, crash mode was just a nice bonus and on its own gets old pretty fast.
Been playing PC version for a good chunk of today and I'm enjoying it a lot. Lots of Deus Ex, Dishonored and Bioshock vibes (been a long time since I played SS2, I can see a connection though SS2 was a lot more difficult, maybe if I was playing this on hard?).
Regardless, I'm impressed so far, I like where the story is going and it runs great on my pc (1440p, r9 390, mostly very high settings and around 60fps).
