My Xbox Live/Windows Live account was recently hacked and a large amount of points purchased with my credit card. I have a friend who had the same thing happen to him last week and I have talked to three other people who have had this happen recently too. With the PSN hacked and personal information leaked, it makes me wonder if the Xbox Live service has been compromised too. Yet I have seen no news outlet or Microsoft say anything about this. Has anyone here on GB been hacked? I would like to figure out if this is just a small group of people hit or if this is a major problem. If you have had your Xbox Live account hacked let us know here and if this is a big deal maybe GB will help us investigate further.
This post contains lite spoilers for the early contain in LImbo.
This is question is directed at the guys at GB, who I guess buy or get a lot more games then I do. Do you guys ever play the demos that are released to the public? I know you play demos at trade shows and conventions, but to my knowledge these are usually not the same as the public demos. This came to mind as I listened to the Games of the Year discussions, particularly Jeff disdain for Limbo. One of the most memorable parts of Limbo for me was the end of the demo, when after seeming defeat the monstrous spider you enter it's cave only to be trapped in the web. As you struggle to free yourself the spider creeps up behind you and appears to impale the boy. The screen fade partially and you are left with a two options: Abandon the boy, or unlock the full game. This, as did the rest of the game, left me feeling awe struck and as helpless as the boy. I bought the game immediately. The first FEAR game did a similar thing, where in it's demo on the 360 section where shorten or cut out completely, as to not spoil ones experience in the full game. This kind of craftsmanship is rare in games today, yet when it come along I feel it is a lose to not include it in a review of my experience of the game. I know that you guys rarely need to play these demos, but I always love the insight into the game journalism industry you guys give and would love to hear your opinions. And I would also like to hear other memorable demo experiences from the GB community.
