So it's Sony's turn to go spending with the announcement that they've purchased Returnal developer Housemarque Games.

Oh and to makes things even more interesting, there was a leaked image suggesting that Sony have also purchased Bluepoint Games, the developers behind some of the best remasters of the past five years or more.

These make perfect sense for Sony in my opinion. Always felt like Housemarque would eventually become a Sony-owned developer, but picking up Bluepoint could be a really smart move. Been a massive fan of their remastering work for years now. What do people make of this news?

Not going to lie, I think this all sounds great. Getting Danny O'Dwyer on board is super smart because his NoClip content is superb. Not sure what I was expecting but I'm exciting to see what happens.

Some real sad news coming out that former Gamespot Editor Tor Thorsen as sadly passed away. Many of you will remember Tor from his appearances on Gamespot live shows over the years. I remember him most fondly from On The Spot and The Hotspot.

Hopefully I'm not getting into trouble for posting this, but I didn't see a post about it. Tor seemed like such a genuine guy and another gone to soon. :(

It's up to Brad, Vinny and Alex to decide what to do next. I don't see this being a budget issue but one where all three want to tackle new challenges and aren't the young men they once were. Both Brad and Vinny pointed this out on the Bombcast. Video game coverage (sadly) is a young persons game nowadays.

It sucks, but I remember the exodus from Gamespot when that happened and look what we got out of that. Maybe it's a positive change for all involved.

So thankful for the content you've provided over the years. I remember being in hospital with a burst appendix and was in agonizing pain, after an operation I was stuck in the hospital for a good while because of possible complications and was super down and depressed. One night I couldn't sleep and decided to hook up my phone and listen to the Giant Bombcast and it was like hearing from old friends. It made me feel so much better.

I know it's not much, but I've been forever thankful for you guys. Best of luck Vinny, Brad and Alex. Thanks to everyone whose been a member of Giant Bomb. I'll be staying around to support whatever Jeff does next.

I wish them nothing but the best, even if it does mean I'll lose my favourite podcasts and content.

Jeff always seems to be aware of content staying fresh and relevant, so I wish him nothing but the best and look forward to see what he does next with his work.

I've loved Abby's work since she came to Giant Bomb, I really wish her all the best and Giant Bomb are going to lose a massive talent when she goes. Honestly I really worry about Giant Bomb in it's current state. Hopefully Jeff can clear things up at some point.

A real shame for all involved. Jess was one of the few at Gamespot whose content I always enjoyed and hope she finds a new home. That said I think Gamespot as felt a little aimless in recent years. Really hope GB isn't affected but you just never know.

Wasn't Jeff reasonably positive about the changes happening in a tweet a few weeks back or did I dream that up?
