So NetherRealm just released a video for the latest fighter in Mortal Kombat 11 and it's the return of Noob Saibot, one of my personal favourites. They also announced that Shang Tsung will be the first downloadable character to the game as well as fronting the returning Krypt. Here's an awesome trailer for Saibot:

It was really bugging me what his voice reminded me of, then I remembered this classic:

Part of me hopes this was intentional. That all said, awesome to see Noob back. Mortal Kombat 11 continues to look like it'll be a blast.
So this is a rumour making the rounds but a fascinating one at that. According to a site called Market Watch, Sony are in negotiations with Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two. According to Game Informer Sony are in "advanced board level discussions to acquire Take-Two Interactive in a mostly cash deal," such a deal would certainly have a massive impact on the industry. We've seen Microsoft making some big moves over the past year or so, are Sony about to follow? Under the Take-Two umbrella are the likes of Rockstar Games, Firaxis and Hanger 13.
I haven't played the sequel, but I had a blast with the original Division and I played that solo. I really enjoyed the isolation and setting. I decided against playing the betas, but I'm still tempted to jump into this day one. Plus Ubisoft's support over the years was pretty strong which helped.
Gearbox continue to tease a potential Borderlands announcement soon, now the company twitter page is teasing something more specific. As someone who loved Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel I'm excited to see what they have to show. I remember Gearbox doing an Unreal Engine 4 demo a while back and the teaser image seems to follow that visually. If it is Borderlands 3, I really hope they don't go down the more modern approach to loot shooters and monetise aspects of the game. Always thought Borderlands 2 found a strong balance.
What would you like to see in a potential Borderlands 3?
So I've been catching up on my bombcasts of late and hearing Brad, Ben and Jeff just positively rave mad about how amazing Apex Legends was I decided to give it a go on the PC and console. So far I'm left feeling like I'm missing out on something when I play this game. To be fair I will be giving it more time but I'd love to know some tips on how to get the most out of the game. I'll admit I'm not entirely a fan of the forced team mode, while it's a different approach I can't say I like it a whole lot. That said the communication tools are impressive. Using a mic I've worked okay with a few teams and haven't had quite the awful experience I feared but it just hasn't ticked with me. The squad inclusion makes me constantly feel like a liability and I've had matches where we've landed and died instantly... that isn't much fun. That said, I know some of this is down to being new to the game.
So, have any useful tips on how I can enjoy the game a bit more? Would appreciate it.
Bobby Kotick is an absolute asshole, always as been always will be. Satoru Iwata took a pay cut when Nintendo weren't doing so well, really highlights the difference between the type of people who run these companies. Activision Blizzard aren't even struggling, they're doing well which makes the loss of jobs worse.
I genuinely feel for Blizzard as I feel like there are good people working there who could do so much better without Activision. I was delighted to see Bungie get away and it gives me faith in Destiny's future at this point. Kotick is the representation of everything I hate about the business world. As gamers we aren't blameless however, because we continue to buy into the same crap they make every year in Call of Duty.
Thought this was of interest, apparently Developer Gearbox Software are promising reveals at PAX East according to the schedule and GameInformer. Unsurprisingly the speculation is already pointing towards a Borderlands 3 announcement but who the heck really knows. As a massive fan of Borderlands 2, I hope so. Though considering how long it's been since the second game, I'm worried that maybe development hasn't exactly been smooth. But exciting nonetheless.
Do you think we'll finally get a new Borderlands announcement or something entirely new? Both are real possibilities I think.
Is it normal for NXT Takeover events to steal the show on PPV weekends? Because boy, what a great watch Takeover was. As for the Rumble, meh is how I'd describe it. Some okay matches and I very much enjoyed the women's Royal Rumble (to my surprise) because of some of the stories being told. The men's was telegraphed from a mile away and was downright boring to be honest (except for seeing Jeff Jarrett). The crowd didn't seem into Styles Vs Bryan much at all and Lesner Vs Balor fell flat.
Great showing from NXT this weekend though, some fantastic matches.
