Eve Online features more depth, complexity and overall quality than many games, and has remained my number one game each year since 2007.
It's a wonderfully well made and vast universe.

My number 2. The game is good, it's smooth, and i didn't sleep for 2 days when i first picked it up.
An excellent mix of macro and micro as always, Civ V is a definitely welcome addition to the franchise with its optimizations.

I haven't even played through this game yet but i already like it a lot.
It's an excellent lore with great immersive gameplay and a lot of replayability for an RPG of its type. ME2 is a must have.

My number 4 is Starcraft 2, which for all of its required skill in micro and speed and apm, is still a great singleplayer game packed with content.

It's a shooter, it's good.
While initially multiplayer floundered due to server woes, now the game is a lot less laggy and full of pretty explosions. Additionally the customizable avatar creation is easily the coolest i've seen other than EVE's new character creator.

It's good, in fact, it's fucking awesome. Not higher on the list as i don't actually own it, and the style of gameplay is starting to show its age.

The most fun i've had with a racing game since i played Burnout 3 for the first time.
It's a visual gander, and a smooth exciting ride for any driving fan, no matter how devoted to GT you are.

An excellent RTS that deserves more of a following, DOW 2 CR added a lot to the sequel and gave us what we all wanted...

Not only did the atmosphere surround me and give me some serious chills, but the creative monster design and the voice acting are both worthwhile parts to this decent shooter.
Looking forward to Metro 2034.

While definitely deserving of a mention, DAO:A was a great expansion to a great game.
Sorry Robot Unicorn Attack, you don't get on my list this year even though you're tons of fun to play.
