I think it's just Nintendo controls the production and quantity of their games. This can also be seen by the way they ship their consoles to retailers as well. If i'm not mistaken, isn't the reason Amazon doesn't carrier Nintendo consoles because Nintendo wont "over" ship them the quantities they want? or something along those lines?
I can say though without question, because Nintendo doesn't drop their first party game prices it kind of makes you feel good when you buy one and then 4 years later it's still holding it's price. Versus buying something like let's say...Bioshock: Infinite and then 10 months later seeing it for $30. I also think from a nostalgia and even gameplay standpoint..Nintendo games hold up better than most other companies.
I never got to play it at the release because I never had the expansion pack for the Nintendo 64. I bought it on Wii for the virtual console but just never had the time to play it.
I loved the Ocarina of Time 3D remake. Nintendo seems to do a kickass job on their remakes and they seem very timely.
That being said, I've been playing maybe 2-3 hours so far. It's good but it 100% feels different. It's more the oddities of it I think just don't fit the Zelda feel. That mysticism just isn't there in Termina. I understand it's a side story and they were experimenting with a lot. Something about it feels off though. I am going to finish it but I would say where it sits so far on my Zelda ranking list is down near lower 1/3 of the titles.
I originally had this pre-ordered and I canceled my pre-order when they delayed it. When it got the February death window I started thinking "alright....what's wrong with this game?" . From everything I've seen and read, it's a shame this wasn't a launch title, it may have been better received.
@rodin I agree with you about the coloring. I wished they released the Non-XL , N3DS. I do feel the system itself is much quicker and feels just more fleshed out.
I'm going to wait for some reviews. I was really excited about this game at the PS4 launch and thought it was going to be out the same year.Since it's been delayed, I have been kinda feeling "meh" about it, and with Jeff saying it's mostly just a cover shooter i'm worried a lot will be recycled from other games.
It's a very interesting concept setting wise, so i'll be attentive to it.
@alistercat I have a normal SD card in my system and it still lags. I have a bunch of downloaded titles (VC items) it still lags. I had the original 3DS , got the XL and transferred everything.
I'm getting one but honestly the main reason is because of processor itself. I have a lot of items downloaded to my 3DS and I can tell you switching to the menu from in game and back or even scrolling through the items on it causes lag.
