E3 2010 June 14th Press Conference recap

Starting off with microsoft, i wasn't at my computer, so i was desperately trying to find a live stream on the Phone of i (iPhone) settled with the kotaku live blog, which was really good they had three guys working on it, so I used that for about 15 minutes then I found out gametrailers was live streaming the press conference to mobile devices, bye bye live blog. I started streaming at the Fable 3 trailer which looked alright, I mean, Fable's fun and it looked like more Fable which if my math is correct should equal more fun. So what is missed was the COD: Black Ops gameplay, MGS: Rising trailer, which looked pretty cool, made me want some watermelon, and Gears 3. Since then I watched all that stuff and all of it impressed me. Kinect looked cool too, especially the Forza 3 stuff, of course the other games they showed for Kinect were more focused on family gaming, but looked fun none the less. Then they unveiled the new slimmer design for the Xbox 360, with built in Wi-Fi and a 250gb hard drive. I'll probably pick one up eventually because i've got 120mb left on my 20gb HDD, from '06. Then they announced everyone in attendance at the briefing would receive one of the new xbox's. Wish i was there. And then it ended.

EA was alright, i was able to watch the entire thing at home which was a step up from the iphone, and they showed some games. Dead Space2, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit from Criterion, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor multiplayer, and some sports stuff, my favorite out of that group was bulletstorm.  Thats really all i cared about. I might have forgotten something, oh yeah new Star Wars trailer for The Old Republic MMO by Bioware.

Ubisoft was really boring they had two things i was interested in Asassins Creed Brotherhood which i still dont fully understand, and Ghost Recon which looked really nice.  Ubisoft just seeemed to have nothing to show.

They started out strong with Microsoft, and ubisoft ended very poorly. I'm kinda disappointed, I was hoping for another Tom Clancy game, like rainbow six or something. Hopefully Nintendo and Sony can deliver.

Thanks for the whole recap. Kinect is looking to be pretty cool. It maybe for family gaming mostly, but the technology and it's potential is something very exciting. Won't be getting it at launch or anything, but I do plan to pick it up in some years.
