"This is interesting because I have been considering getting a ps3 and hooking it up to my 20" monitor using a dvi - hdmi adapter.  Its still alot cheaper than buying a new tv so I guess I cant complain if there is a minor loss in quality.

I think you mean PC monitors.. they run at 16:10 instead of 16:9 widescreen.

Price diffrence should be minimal compare to U.S.

Try setting the monitor to 1680x1050 resolution.. that might fix the stretching problem..

Biostar TP45 HP motherboard is a good budget part.. also look for Asus, Gigabyte. DFI brands..

RAM: search on internet for compatibility with the motherboard you have chosen.( Get 2x2GB sticks total of 4GB)

Case:  I'm using Antec 1200.. and love it so far.. those dust filters really helps.. or you can look at some models from Coolermaster.

PSU: Anything from Corsair and PC Power & Cooling.... the wattage depends on your hardware.. don't cheap out on this.

Heatsinks:  Do a simple google search :)
