It's an important game by some regard, but when you get down to the nitty and gritty, it's kinda lacking at times. Really good? Maybe. Best Game Ever? Never.
No. Order of Zelda games (Platform only) by Awesomeness
Wind Waker GCN Ocarina of Time N64 The Legend of Zelda NES Twilight Princess WII A Link to the Past SNES Majoras Mask N64 Adventure of Link NES
I'm pree sure I didn't miss any... I don't really count Four Swords though.... it was good, great even, but it didn't feel like a real addition to the franchise.
@Kyreo: I'm playing through WW right now, and coming off Ocarina of Time, i really gotta say that WW is better in so many ways. But then again, i guess alot can change in 4 years?
I never really got into any except for The Legend of Zelda and Wind Waker. I played some GBA one, but I definitely prefer the NES style of play, but Wind Waker was enjoyable, for me, because of the art style. I never like N64 3d games.
No, it isn't; that title belongs to Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. "
Sadly, I'm pretty sure everyone except me and the other two hardcore FE fans in the GB community still don't know what the hell that game is.. Blame Japan. Or blame people sucking at strategy games. I am liable to agree with you, in some form or another. FE4 is probably in my top 20, if not my top 15.
Ocarina of Time is definitely a title that deserves a lot of the praise it gets, and it probably ties with Mario 64 in terms of the significance in the development of 3D games. However, for as much as I enjoy it (especially in comparison to the other three 3D zelda games), I feel that it's too easy an answer, almost a cop out in a way. A person who plays a variety of video games on a regular basis should be able to be a little more creative with their choices. For the record, I think that going the opposite direction, and picking something super niche or underperforming like Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil, Xenogears or Ico is a cop out too, albeit in a more counter-culture way.
NO! HALO 2 IS THE BEST GAME EVER! *cries hysterically*
Hmm... yeah, it just might be. I wouldn't feel bad giving Tetris or Super Mario Bros that title, though. Still, I don't know if any game has ever amazed me the way Ocarina of Time did. Plus it still holds up quite nicely, which is great.
