Panzer Dragoon Saga easily. Atmospheric and an awesome combat system. Story was great too.

Nocturne was pretty rad as well.

I reckon it's the three stage rocket ship from Megaman 9 in Willy's castle. I have been stuck against that mofo for a year and a half.

I would say things get better, being only 20 myself I can understand what your saying, but would say this you'll feel much better once you get a job be it related to your degree or not. I'm on a placement year at the moment between second and final years of uni and having the 9-5 structure really has helped me to focus on both my future and current aims. I still don't have an ultimate plan but I reckon that taking life as you go is a pretty good thing, look at what you've achieved so far in life, your studying law so are presumably pretty smart. Find yourself a job and stay close to your friends and family and I reckon things will turn out OK. By the way before this year I never had a job so it's certainly not an issue or a slight against you for not getting employed before now.

So I've always been a big fan of video game music, and have a somewhat hefty playlist on Youtube to prove it http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEF543D447DA8191D. Now for me the best video game music helps a great game incite emotion from the player, be it excitement, fear, sadness or confidence. To that end I would say that my favorite ever piece of game music is Atolm Dragon from Panzer Dragoon Saga:

It may not be technically amazing by todays standards but at the time it was almost in a league of it's own. Not only is it a very good track but it would also only play in a select few places in game. First it played in the intro of the game as shown above, which at least for my young self got me real excited to play the game, but second it would play during fights against Atolm Dragon, one of the more significant bosses in the game, in which it invoked a sense of fear and anticipation as you fought against your nemesis.

All of which brings me to my question. What is your single favorite video game track and why? Is it because it elicits an emotional response as I detailed above, or simply because it was a piece of music that blew your mind?

I like the TV shows and the manuscripts because they add to the plot, but the coffee flasks are a bit irritating as they literally add nothing.

Welcome to my world. Nothing more beautiful than getting the code to finally do what you want it to do.

I pretty much got this on a whim, being a fan of the genre, and can say wholeheartedly that this is looking like being one of the best games I own on the wii. Strong voice acting some great music and a very interesting and explorable open world. It's well good. Should you buy it? I guess if you've enjoyed other JRPGs or are just looking for a very strong hardcore game on the Wii then you definitely should, otherwise have a read of the reviews online (edge magazine's convinced me).

Having played both games I would say that they both have merit in different areas. Final fantasy X has the polish and in my opinion the superior characters, whilst Skies has a superior battle system, and a far more interesting world. The sound tracks are pretty much dead even, both being fantastic. Both are phenominal last gen rpgs, and if I had to tip the hat to one I would say FFX, but that may just be because I played FFX before Skies, and have grown to really care for all the characters in that game.

I just want to say that I completely disagree with anyone that thinks these news articles are unnecessary, though I respect their right to an opinion. Patrick has been responsible for some great and informative stories, and has broken a lot of news in the short time that he has been a member of the whiskey media editorial staff. He adds variety to the site and produces some amazing articles and I hope that he continues to do so for many years to come here at giant bomb.
