The one part they forgot to mention in the system specs, conviently.

System Requirements

    • Co-op/Multiplayer Hosting: To host Co-op or MP matches, a 2Ghz dual-core or better processor is recommended.

This line wouldn't be required with Dedicated servers.

I think it's great that these publishers are trying to get people interested in NEW copies of the game, as well as pre-orders, so that they can actually see the money rather than the used game stores.  HOWEVER...if you are going to make it the pre-order bonus AN ENTIRE FUCKING GAME MODE...then it means that you are obviously fucking mental and need to be checked into the psychiatric ward.  Why?  It pretty much means you've gone batshit-crazy-drunk-with-power-and-stupidity. "

I used to feel the same way about buying new games to support devs, but when I get treated like this it forces me rethink my stance. You get locked out of a MP game mode if you don't preorder? Buying the game day 1 isn't enough anymore? You have to preorder now? I think it's become obvious to me that publishers don't give a rats ass about their customers. So I think I am going buy used games exclusively for awhile.

" This is why no one cares about PC gamers any more... with this the L4D2 thing and Starcraft 2, and that ridiculous Diablo 2 art style thing... they have a major superiority and entitlement complex... and frankly for the most part publishers don't need them any more... we all know MW2 will easily sell most on 360 anyway. "
Lol. Because console gamers don't bitch AT ALL.... Talk about a superiority complex.

If anyone understands the consequences of not buying a game it's PC gamers. We get fewer and fewer games and they are becoming just straight console ports more and more. There are other developers who are handling the PC platform the correct way. So while we might not get CODX we will get Halflife, Borderlands, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2.. etc. So it isn't the end for PC gaming; it's just a nasty breakup with a long time girlfriend :).

Not wanting to pay for something doesn't either, but hey, tell the internet that  Anywho, PC's are for customisation and modification, consoles are too hard to navigate to customise something like a ded server (without making you scream in agony, thats the point of these kinds of things, and its great - IMO it doesnt belong on PC if there is no other option. "
Uhhh. I didn't say the sentence you are quoting. So you post should be edited to reflect who it is actually aimed at.

Actually Activision got their start on the Atari 2600. Most Activision games are console games, it's been that way since 1979. Forcing people to use peer to peer multiplayer does not justify piracy. "
He is talking about Infinity Ward not Activision.

Too bad this guy isn't around anymore.
Look, I'm not even going to get involved in this debate about Infinity Ward's big changes to  Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer infrastructure on the PC.
Way to bitch out on this B-Rad.

Does it bother or puzzle anyone else why he is so hands off on this topic? Why won't he weigh in. What is keeping him from 'getting involved'?

I'm just kind of annoyed at this because those losers will end up buying the game anyways. What else are they going to play? A two-year old precedent to a new product, a one-year old re-work of the franchise by an opposing developer or like, Rainbow Six Rogue Spear or some shit? Waitm Rainbow Six would be pretty alright... err.... When the 20 people they call friends who did purchase the game talk about it to the other 5 who canceled their pre-order saying stuff like "BRO CUSTOMIZABLE KILL STREAKS" or "DUDE BRO THE ENDING TO THAT CAMPAIGN WAS SICK", they'll just buckle down and get the god damn game. ... Then hate themselves for living around the same high-school graduates and flunkees I had to suffer listening to for 5 years.

Dilly dally, shilly shally. People complain about everything. I still play MW1 every so often with my buddies online on PS3 and coming from the days of playing COD2 and Halo on PC, I've not exactly been angry at the fact I can't manually pick out the server I play on and then cuss at every room's low ping. If they care so much about playing together and clan matches, then make a private match. You won't gain XP, but it'll stop you from being an arrogant prick and taking advantage of the game to boost your friends, and yourself, through glitches and shit in a match that matters.

No one is ever happy anymore. :( I want to go all Omar on their asses and take their PCs at shotgun-point 'cause they're so arrogant.

Dedicated servers = no lag. P2P gaming = laggy shit fest, as a FPS online game you should WANT dedicated servers for shooters on consoles. Everyone is losing here ( Console and PC gamers ) console gamers just don't realize it yet. But they will. Every time you die because of lag. Think about dedicated severs. Every time the host leaves the game and prematurely ends it for everyone, think dedicated. Every time you thought you shot the other guy first but you died instead, think dedicated.

Once you play on a dedicated servers you will never want to go back to P2P gaming. Oh and matchmaking and dedicated servers are not mutually exclusive. So you can have both.

Was getting this on the PC until now. Instead I am buying it used for the PS3.  No money for IW or Activistion. For the record I only buy new to support devs, but I don't want to support these devs in particular anymore. Thanks but no thanks for the straight console port to the PC you can keep that piece of shit IW.
