Anyone else out there think Sea of Thieves seems kinda bad? Their teaser trailers have been fun and colorful, but then the in game footage looked real plain, like 10 years ago World of Warcraft plain. Their reliance on Youtube style commentary to make every little clip **amazing** certainly didn't help.

I remembered another one from last night. Playing as Bastion, I had a good perch and my team kept the enemy from getting anywhere near the control point. An enemy Mei (who proved to be my nemesis for the match) just slipped around me with a shred of health left. Out of sight she froze me, then popped in front to shatter and kill me. Watching the kill-cam, I noticed that the barrel of my turret was just sticking out of the corner that she hid behind. That's what she shot her freeze gun at.

Tell your stories of cool highlights or moments you've done or seen in game. I've got two just from the couple hours I've played.

Playing as Mercy, our team was defending a control point in Temple of Anubis, with everyone holding it down at the moment. The full enemy team rushed us all at once and threw several cooldown attacks at us. Darting back and forth in a corner, I kept four others healthy enough to exchange fire for a good 15 seconds, then threw a damage boost on our Bastion who cleaned out the enemy team. Two of ours fell while I did that, so I popped Mercy's ultimate to bring them back up. It was especially cool seeing this pop up as the best play of the round and garnering likes from both teams for it.

Starting a new control match on the Nepal map, I decided to try out Winston. Right from the get go, I came against an enemy Winston and started dueling it out. I was getting the better of him, leaping around and getting in more lighting shots. I started to get cocky and went for a leap attack to try and finish him off, only, I aimed high. Way too high. I soared well over his head and right off the edge of the map to my death. Guy on the other end must have been dying laughing. I was at least.

I'm liking it so far. I'm still fairly early on, just finished mission 12 last night, so I haven't upgraded any units yet. For all the hoopla going on around the localization, I appreciate that the characters seem less like one-note anime tropes as they were in Awakening. Mind you, I came around on several of them in Awakening, they were just in need of more than one defining characteristic.

I'm surprised that I've only seen one Paralogue mission so far, and starting to wonder if I'm missing them somehow. You don't need to pay to inspect areas to open them up do you? The one I came across just popped up in the list of locations.

I'm a little surprised that this thread doesn't exist yet. Hopefully I didn't just miss it.

Really curious what the price was. I thought I read somewhere that it was cash only, no stock. Could it have been less than the Kickstarter funding?

I'd like to get in on this. Am I to understand there is not an overall theme to be announced? That's one of my favorite parts of LD Jam. It forces you to come up with a design idea on the spot when it starts. With out it, I have a hard time filtering ideas...

Yeah, the guys do seem to come off as a bit harsh towards Jaffe at times. He kind of fits the bill as one of the "larger than life" developers that they tend to poke fun at: Dennis Dyack, Cliffy B, John Romero, etc. I get odd impressions of him at times. When he comes on a GB PAX or E3 panel and talks, he comes off as super genuine and just a guy that puts himself out there, swearing and all. But then in some other formats, like with the PS Experience presentation, he seems to me that he's selling himself a bit hard and trying to put on a show. And who knows, maybe that's what he feels people expect from him. Maybe that's what they do. Either way, that seems to me what the guys mock about him, the sort of "rockstar, off the cuff, Heavy Metal magazine style" game dev. Then Drawn to Death gets shown and it A.) is yet another third person multiplayer shooter, and B.) fits nicely into that concept of David Jaffe as the guy who still hearkens back to the days of when high school kids were way into Metallica and boobs. Those two things together just don't seem to interest the GB crew (or me). I can't speak for them, but I like Jaffe. Even if I'm not so interested in this game, I hope it does alright for him and he keeps making stuff.

Yeah, zoning works well against him, and he doesn't have great air mobility. Also if you play a character with a counter (Roy, Palutena, Lucario), Mac's dashing attacks have pretty good tells to draw out and exploit.
