lol at judging people who don't read. In today's society of 40-60hr work weeks+family or whatnot, ain't nobody got time to spent 8 hours reading the larger Harry Potter books instead of 2 hours watching the movie, which they can also watch with their friends/family.

Also consider the amount of reading required during schooling, and you'll see why most people prefer to leave reading as an academic interest rather than a hobby.

Regarding video games, except for phone games, they are considered a childish form of entertainment for a reason. Just look at how ubiquitous Call of Duty is with 12 year olds screaming "I fucked yo mom". That's the image typical people get when you say "I play video games", and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

I already hate this fucking game:

I dunno, maybe it'll be alright, but I'm skeptical. The Bay Area is in theory a great setting for this kind of game, but I just don't trust the writers to restrain themselves. I expect it to be an extended commentary on the collision of tech and urban culture and issues of race, class and gentrification — because how do you set a game like Watch Dogs in San Francisco and avoid that stuff — but judging by the first game it'll almost certainly be handled in the most ham-fisted, stereotypical way imaginable. But, hey, at least the protagonist looks cool, so maybe it won't be all bad.

I didn't play WD1, but the fact that you're playing a terrorist seems intriguing. Especially since (assuming a no-kill mode is possible), that most people will create legions of corpses on their way to breaking down the surveillance society of WD.

If they make a no-kill story possible, then they should modify the protagonist's personality as such. For example, if the protagonist isn't killing anyone, then his attitude towards Dedsec should be "I know we're terrorists, but lets try to do this without any causalities". I would argue that in this mode, the conclusion should be failing to accomplish their goals (probably usurping current society), since trying to avoid causalities is too idealistic considering their goals.

Obviously the protagonist's personality can shift to be more remorseless depending on how many people you kill (maybe other factors too). AKA, there should be story implications based on playstyle. Is this also cheesy and hamfisted? Probably. But also kind of interesting imo.

VR ready and under 150W means that it can be a good candidate in prebuilt PCs. Therefore, big potential for it to sell lots.

If your 770 can't get 60FPS at your native resolution (even on lowest), then replace. Until then, wait. That's how I do it so that every upgrade is a big one.

Here's a reference for the power usage of the 1070 and other GPUs: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_1070_review,8.html

That site suggests a 450-500W PSU, so assuming that you have a brand name PSU (not the trash that comes with prebuilt PCs/low end cases) then you'll ~probably be fine. Don't take my word for it, though, wait for more opinions.

Regarding other GPUs, the GTX 960 is a good 1080p card at a decent pricepoint, but the 970 is significantly better for only a bit more. By which I mean that the 970 will last you longer. 1070 is supposed to replace the 970, so maybe you'll see really cheap 970s when you start browsing...

People forget that GB content is not "Lets Play" (for the most part). That means that it requires actually researching and playing a game before actually QLing it. And I imagine a lot of their time is spent playing games they're going to QL. Besides that there's corporate stuff, meetings, etc that is daily life for any office worker. We only see the finished product in the form of videos, not the stuff that came before.

You have a 980 and want to upgrade? That's not how it works, lol. If you buy a enthusiast GPU, you should expect to use it for 4-5 years (or GPU generations).

Pascal/Polaris will likely fall by the wayside by time DX12 is the norm. Since by time DX12 is the norm, there will be 2-3 new GPU gens.

Guess I'll be avoiding any Persona-related stuff between the Japanese and US release.

Yeah, at this point I also wish I could just check a box saying "send my subscription money to GB East".

pretty much the same

Agreed. At this point, I don't even try to watch the West coast stuff anymore ("Don't like it, don't watch it.")

I dunno, I liked the Doom QL (except for Brad playing on a harder difficulty...shouldn't do that for a QL lol)
