@Geno:
The 5850 crossfired seems very poweful. I understand the 5970 is the best card on the market now. I take it this is good insurance for the future.

I've never had CF or SLI before so I am not sure what sort of PSU I need?

Alternatively, if the upkeep cost of a PSU and a non bottle necking CPU is high should I just tone down the card to two 4890s?

@Mikesan: Ok I am a bit confused.

I understand that the GTX275 and HD 5770 is more potent than the GTX260.

However, on Overclockers there is quite a great price difference between the two cards.

275 averages at about £190 whilst the 5770 averages to around £140

edit - Topic redundant: purchased a 5850 ;)

What is the most potent and reliable graphic card I can get between the price range of £150-£200.

I realise there probably isnt 'the best' card within that specification. However, ive been out of the loop on hardware recently and I am purchasing new computer parts. I had my eyes on the Geforce GTX260.

If you would have asked me a couple of years ago, I probably would have sided with Square. Now however, after playing Mass Effect and Dragon Age I strongly prefer the western design philosophy. Looking at Final Fantasy XIII now it just seems so dated mechanically compared to an rpg like Mass Effect 2.

Funny, people seem to like FF12's battle system more when its in Dragon Age.

Only that Dragon Age's system was entirely more complex.

If you played WoW for more than a year and jumping into EvE prepare for a totally different game and progression path than WoW.

First thing to do is find a friendly but bold corp or else you will die of confusion and boredom.

I must disagree with some of your points.  Heres why:

EvE uses a lot more of social elements as a tool for the gameplay and not just your characters  abilities. If you are playing it just for the running missions and killing rats then I suppose one can only see the characters 'level and equipment' as the only factor.

  • However those with a good noggin, can make great fortunes from  playing with the economy. Skills do help to an extent in this but primarily one needs to use his brain. Especially when it gets to crazy stuff like paying player pirates to disrupt mining runs thus jacking the price up on X material etc.

  • Not to mention the rewards of working as a team in mass corporation battles, the outcomes offering great opportunities for everyone in the corp providing you have a friendly officer.

I understand the point you are making is that even if you are 'this awesome' your abilities are still based on a timer? Thats correct however I feel that your characters abilities are only second to what you can actually achieve using your head. Thats where the skill lies.

In Street Fighter the point is simple to defeat your opponent but in EvE its a sandbox. There is no real point to it, become rich and powerful anyway you can.

I personally dont care which direction the cod franchise goes in, if they announced Mechs or if they announced Dawn of Man: Prehistoric Warfare (calling it), I would be interested either way by the ridiculousness of them both. However personally I enjoy mechs more than throwing rocks so I would have the bias to think the game as down right awesome.
But, even if IW made a new title I doubt it their version of the future would include mechs.

However what you seem to be describing... or even desiring.. is a 'modern' made mech game with same cinematic action that call of duty is known for.

What you should be asking is "Why dont they make awesome mech games anymore?".

Fingers crossed for Front Mission Evolve, the new revival Mechwarrior and Armored Core 5. (My moneys on the new Mechwarrior).

I'd want to say Lost Planet - mainly because you can only usually find 3 or 4 rooms at the max.

One of them being Japanese only so you lag out and the rest of them are usuall mixed with brits and americans so you lag anyway. Unplayable.

Edit - On Dead or Alive 4 you can usually find a room but dont expect a lot of variety.
