Been playing on Steam, really enjoying everything about it! I just beat the final boss and re rolled my campaign on Hard mode, and am super excited to find all the weapons and traits and stuff.
Meats of Evil on Steam, hit me up if you need help with a boss or sommin
I've been playing quite a bit, almost level 11 right now. It seems friends don't have much functionality right now outside of some benefits if you do fortresses locally.
I am excited to see where they take the mechanics in this, it has some decent enough ideas. Prestiging your registry pages to gain more exp per trace in that page is kinda cool.
It's a run-based procedural freeriding game that has a Skate-like trick/control system, FTL-like campaign, and Trackmania style multiplayer. I've been having a ton of fun with it so far on PC. You also unlock cosmetics and stuff by finishing runs and completing challenges (no loot boxes)
Better than a Can Can?
You gain "rep" by riding dangerously/doing tricks. You then earn Crew Members the more rep you get and they give you passive bonuses that affect you/the tracks. Right now there are 9 worlds to ride in, each with different obstacles and general track feel.
Yup, you have to beat a boss track to move to the next world.
Some of the nodes on the map have modifiers on them, like dangerous weather, more rep gain, take more hp damage on a bail, and even a helmet cam that gains more rep. This game gets very fast so the helmet cam stages can get super intense.
This little windmill accessory was a "Rare" drop and it spins as you ride!
There's also a replay editor, and even a freeplay track editor that I haven't touched, but from the sounds of it it might just be tweaking the procedural generation. In terms of the multiplayer it will just drop players into the seed your running and you will just see them riding around on the tracks with no collision, and you can set up a private session to ride with friends.
I would love to hear if anyone else is playing, it's super fun!
@turboman: I would absolutely be interested in this idea, I spent a good amount of time composing music yesterday. I really love the power of the tools, even though it would be easier to use a mouse and keyboard/a midi keyboard or something for the music composition stuff. I also want to work on creating other assets too!
@bane: For sure the 1-56 leveling process is fun and enjoyable. It's when the leveling grinds to a hault that sucks and it becomes just the korean mmo grind. Another thing that I think I failed to mention in that blog post is this: If you do end up wanting to grind, be prepared to be hassled by other players. There are certain desirable mobs of enemies to grind on, whether it's pure volume of mobs or ease of grinding. This means that other players gravitate towards these areas and will hang out grinding. So if you're there grinding too you are now sharing mobs with another player, and more often than not, the other player will try and kill you to keep their grind spot free of disturbance.
It's weird and annoying.
The thing that kept me coming back after 56 were the "life skills' and node management system. It's a weird system and actually pretty cool. It is also still just korean mmo grind in the end, though. I'm curious to see how people take to the xbox version.
