@burusu: So The Void was the first clip in that video I didn't recognize. Had to look it up and I don't even think I'd heard of it until your post. Awesome art though.

I'm a nerd for Yakuza, going back to the original... yeah... Can't wait for 0, and hoping 6 gets announced for NA soon.

And in line with Giant Bomb canon, I'm a fan of Big Bo. But the unsung hero of Binary Domain is that French robot, I forget his name. Despite it feeling somewhat low budget, Binary Domain was solid... goofy and mostly fun as hell.

I feel like it was a very important "generation."

The graphical leap was really striking to me. At the time, when I first saw 360 footage I was pretty much done with console games. But I was quickly overwhelmed by excitement and had to be part of the launch. I ended up playing just about every game in your video (which was awesome and exhaustive, by the way), with the PS3 I got much later and a Wii I "inherited" when my parents got bored of Sports and Wii Fit. Actually your video impressed me, because I definitely did not think I'd be nostalgic about ANY of those games, at least for another decade or so. But it was hard not to get hype about Vanquish, Bayonetta, or Revengeance clips, mashed together so elegantly with stuff like Limbo and Journey. There really were a lot of great games.

Despite enjoying my PS4 I really don't feel like this current generation has hit its stride the way the previous one did. I'm not sure it ever will.

@dochaus: Is Tatami Galaxy really an entry-level show? It's one of my absolute favorite pieces of entertainment in the past 10 years, but I have to admit the frenetic pacing of dialog can be incredibly alienating to new watchers. An ex girlfriend and I watched when it was new, and she couldn't follow the subtitles. At all. I ended up watching the rest without her and wishing she had stuck with it... but yeah, I feel like it's challenging at least in that regard.

Even I'll admit there were bits I had to pause and re-watch.

I just really hope Brad isn't misusing that rodent medication he talked about on Twitter.

Finally got around to playing this episode. VERY well done. There was a noticeable ramp-up of production value. Previous episodes looked nice, but this looked markedly better. Their Sam and Max games literally featured a constant "recycling" of art assets as props for gags... that is some of the worst, most distracting shit. But this episode honestly surprised me, by making something that just looks great, without any qualifications.

Not a single second felt wasted. And on top of that, we see how and where all the characters end up, and it feels satisfying. This absolutely seals it as the most creatively successful episodic adventure game so far, in my opinion.

I really liked that folky song over the credits... they've really done a nice job with licensed music in general, but that's probably my favorite song from the series.

Besides that, great wrap-up of the storylines, great twists, 2 or 3 hearty laughs, and a bittersweet feeling to that ending stinger...
