The Physical Melee job is a pirate class, what it’s going to be called is completely up in the air. As someone who really just wants this expansion to be over with a better focus on post game content everything shown off so far doesn’t really have me super excited. They’re really early in on a lot of their concepts so I’m just waiting for those details to come out.

Really just kinda disappointed the endwalker post scenario story will never get the grand scale it probably deserved.

@junkerman: I have definitely been enjoying my time more with it about halfway in thinking this game is a great callback to the 360 era RPGs. Even if it took me a while to get there.

On a separate note, being a XIV subscriber for about 10 years of my lifespan now, on launch week I was almost crushingly disappointed with the game trying to treat it as the next great project out of CBU3. It's not that game, and now with the time I've put into it I think it was actually pretty unfair of me to expect it out of the game given the extensive uhh... "relationship" I have with their previous product. XIV changed my life, this game will probably not have the same impact whatsover, but I can acknowledge this was something they wanted to do, a passion project of sorts and I'm glad they got to shoot their shot even if I don't think it quite lands the way they maybe want it to.

Checking back into this thread to report I hit infinite this season and this was the game that inspired me for that final push.

I had a run-in with them recently because I was curious about getting a refund on Returnal. I originally bought it to play co-op with a friend and upon unlocking co-op we found it to be non-functional, everything we tried to get it to work just ended up not working out. It was pretty low bar to entry of just claiming the game was somewhat broken but I tried anyway.

Apparently if you at any point download the game even if you can't get something to work unless it was Cyberpunk, or any game that was reported they were taking refunds on, you aren't getting a refund. Needless to say I'm just done buying digital from Sony until their return policies are actually modern enough to warrant purchasing through them again.

It was a fantastic game at its core and had a ton of potential within the first month. Yet as someone who was mildly "killing" it with about 50 wins into the midseason update the game got heavily metafied and games became kind of the same thing with little to no big gameplay moments I experienced before that point.

It was very much a "play it safe" kind of game when you were getting into rooms where everyone knew what they were doing, and I honestly feel like thats where the game was going to live or die. That and with all the things they added it really didn't address a whole ton of the problems you would see in those rooms. I'll remember my time with it mostly fondly but the last week or so of playing before uninstalling it was very... yeesh, it no longer really resembled what I came to the game for.
