The game that deserves Nightdive remaster treatment

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nightdive Studios are doing good work in terms of preserving obscure titles from the past that have been neglected by inaccessibility. And with the upcoming System Shock 2 remaster coming out this June, they have expressed interest in reviving 7th generation titles.

With this recent news, there are several games from the 360 / PS3 era I think would be great for Nightdive to reintroduce to modern audiences: Singularity, Syndicate, Condemned, F.E.A.R., Quake 4, Wolfenstein 2009 etc. One of the more unlikely ones, but still one that I long for, is Splash Damage's 2011 parkour shooter Brink.

Brink is a game that had strong sales, but a generally mixed reception for its weak AI and graphical issues. It also came out in a decade where FPS games were flooding the market and many were often quickly overshadowed.

That is not to say that this game was not ambitious for its time as the blend of single-player and multiplayer was actually quite impressive. This game would lead to more shooters implementing freerun mechanics later on such as Titanfall and Call of Duty. With all that being said about Brink, I would argue it was almost close to being a great game had it been given a bit more time to cook. The poor AI and texture pop-in could be improved with a Nightdive remaster, and perhaps cut content can be restored! Not to mention cross-play...

In summary, Brink is probably very unlikely to see get remastered but far from impossible. It is a game that would strongly benefit from a current day remaster.

On a bit of a side note: When I got an Xbox One a few years back, I got it with the intention to play Xbox 360 games through backwards compatibility. One of the first games I attempted to play on it was actually Brink but I was surprised to notice that it was never backwards compatible and ended up getting delisted last year when 360 store shut down (which has practically killed off any chance of it being made backwards compatible). I was geniunely bemused that such a prominent game from Bethesda was never put on the program, but I ultimately thought it was due to licensing issues because Splash Damage (the company who made Brink) is not a part of Bethesda. So it's probably a developer / publisher licensing dispute.
