I have played both versions, and the non-Wii versions are absolutely fine and well worth your time. The loss of the wiimote cellphone and flashlight is a pity, but they were certainly not what carried the game. If you are interested in well done, well written and excellently performed interactive storytelling there is no reason not to own Shattered Memories, whatever system you get it on.
Oh yes, more so than in many years past. I will spend christmas with my family for the first time in four or five years, and boy do they know how to make christmas eve worth your while. I've been attending and even throwing the odd winter/christmas party, I have spent a considerable amount of money on decoration and there already has been and there will be more baking of cookies and cake with lights and sparkles and cheesy music and everything.
