To add-on to my last post:

The game isn't great, not even close. I just finished playing 3 of the story missions, and I kinda think they are terrible, but the PvP stuff, which is the focus of the game, is solid from what I've played. The game is definitely mediocre, at best, though. I think calling it complete garbage/awful is a bit of an overstatement. I agree with a lot of what has been said about the game play and everything. I just feel that makes it more average than a steaming pile of poo.

Still seems like a decent enough rental. I'll play a bit, get bored, send it back, then forget it and go back to playing Yakuza 5.

I played a few online matches during the beta. I wasn't blown away or anything, but I had some fun playing as that healer guy...forget his name. I just got the game in the mail today from Gamefly. It didn't seem like something I'd want to buy, but I imagine it will be a decent rental.

I was alive when it when it first launched, but never saw/tried it that I can remember, which is kinda crazy since it was around so long. Considering that it did stay around so long, even though it wasn't meant to, makes me assume it must be pretty good/decent, at least. Hopefully I can find some somewhere once it re-releases.

Growing up, I never heard anyone say "down" when referring to plumage, so my mind didn't immediately make that connection when introduced to that item. Just wrote it off as random nonsense like 75% of most item names were in that era. Then I just stopped thinking about it until the item iconography made it overt enough to refresh my conclusion.

My father has a goose feather pillow, which was referred to in my house as as a 'down pillow'.

We would just call it a pillow. No distinction was ever made about what was inside that I can remember. I did know what "down" was, but I never really think about items in games like that. First time I saw "phoenix down" I never thought about it. I just kept playing the game, so I never really realized what it was until that podcast years ago.

@spaceinsomniac: I saw that video. It was the first I heard about any of this. I don't play WoW anymore. Blizzard is completely within their rights to take this server down if that's what they want to do, of course, but it all just seems shitty. I just don't get why they don't do something for the people that want to play old WoW.

Do they really think all these people that want to play vanilla WoW will just rush to whatever the current expansion is because they have no alternative? A few might, but I highly doubt anywhere close to the majority would. Or do they just not give a shit about them? I'm kinda leaning towards the latter.

And man...that clip shown in the JonTron video is insane to me. Telling someone they don't want what they say they want is crazy. Yeah...I'm sure none of the thousands of people on that server actually wanted to be there.

I mean, it CAN be true in some cases--asking developers for a drop rate increase that would get you every cool item in a week, for example--but that's not what we're talking about here. Gamers aren't game designers, and they don't always know what is best for their games, and that's a fact that needs to be accepted sometimes. But again, that has nothing to do with this situation.

I didn't really think about it when I posted, which is why I didn't clarify, but yeah, that's definitely true sometimes. I just meant in this instance, it's crazy to me.

I really enjoy the majority of the Ratchet and Clank games. And yeah, I'm really looking forward to playing this later this week(it's on the way from Gamefly).

DC movies worry me since the end of Nolan's Batman movies. I have no issue with Ben Affleck, or anything. I'm more worried about writing/directing. Especially since Batman V. Superman is apparently not too good.

It seems like they can't get any DC properties right unless it's a standalone Batman.

I'd say that's still yet to be seen. They definitely made some crap Batman movies in the past, and I have to wonder how much of the success of the Nolan films had to do with Nolan himself.

I feel like it could have been, but there's just so little of it. The story is like 5 missions and it's over. I know it's really more than that. Around 10 or so, I think, but a lot of them seemed really short, and everything was over so quick. Then, they tacked on all that arena stuff, which seemed longer than the actual game. And, for me, the most well done combat arena is still just a boring, repetitive combat arena.

I'm not saying I think Second Son is better, really. Closer to being equals, I guess. I liked Fetch, and the game play and I do like First Light, but I just wish there was more to it.

I didn't really read anything here, because of spoilers, but I probably want to see this movie more than I normally would just because of the director, Dan Trachtenberg. I loved watching The Totally Rad Show when it was around. It's really cool to see him get to direct a big movie like this, even more so since people seem to be liking it.
