I like the Hitman/Lara Croft/Deus Ex Go games. 80 Days is and has decent replay value, it's a well written text adventure overall. Finally as others have said both The Room and Monument Valley series are well made puzzle games.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Pacers. They were a few games from home court in the first round last year and Tyreke Evans is the perfect compliment to Oladipo (on offense at least). I'm hopeful Myles Turner has a mini leap in him and am also high on Sabonis. I'm excited at some of the lineup options with Oladipo at the 1.

Oladipo has to prove last year wasn't a fluke, but his attitude and dedication to hard work make me feel good about that. They also won't be able to sneak up on teams this year and have to have a better plan when teams throw hard doubles at Oladipo but they traded Lance Stephenson and an often injured Glenn Robinson for Evans and McDermott which are upgrades on both guys.

I'm not as high on Utah as a lot of people are. I've seen some prejections peg them as the 3 seed in the west and around 55 wins and that just seems to high. I don't have faith that Rubio will maintain his career year as a shooter and I still don't think they have enough help around Mitchell on offense. Defense will be fierce but the Rockets almost made Gobert unplayable in last seasons playoffs. I still have the Thunder ahead of them and could even see a healthy Pelicans team snag a top four seed as well.

@j3ke7zt: Elite is a more action focused game compared to EVE.

I think the current level of graphical fidelity is fine for me personally. I've never been a huge graphics snob anyway; art direction matters more in my mind. Nintendo is the best at this. For the last few console cycles they have had "underpowered" hardware but still manage to make games that look great (Breath of the Wild, Mario Galaxy, etc.). I have a PC with an i7 and a 1070 but most games in medium look fine to me.

EVE or Elite: Dangerous. Both can be enjoyed without ever engaging with the combat if you choose.

Odyssey seems like it is leaning even heavier into the RPG elements with dialog trees and romance options. That being said Origins is a great game, Bayek is a great character and the setting features Greeks and Romans prominently.

Bottom line is that Odyssey is likely going to be very similar to Origins, so there is at least a baseline of quality to the mechanics. Since you didn't play Origins you likely won't feel as fatigued by another game in that style which means Odyssey will feel fresher (and possibly better) than it might for me. Of course Origins is cheaper and a known quantity.

I'd say Origins.

Does he like sports? I mean like at the level of keeping his own stats in baseball or dreaming up fake NBA trades. If so there are plenty of games where he can manage a team without having to master the complex controls of the game. Even the big boys like Madden and NBA 2K let you sim/coach games and run the team.

@lokihellfire2008: I definitely recommend a separate loadout for PvP. There are guns and abilities I wouldn't use for PvE and vice versa.

The other point I would make is to remember you are coming into a game that is pretty established. Like almost every online shooter, the community gradually skills up as only the most dedicated players stick around long term. The learning curve might be higher for you just because you are playing a higher caliber of opponents than when the game launched.

I was checking out the NES stuff today and noticed there wasn't an option to remap controls. I find it a bit uncomfortable to play NES games because of where the Switch A/B buttons are. It's a bit disappointing, especially considering the Wii U allowed you to remap Virtual Console games.
