Have you considered a create game API?

That way someone could import data from a data provider like oculus, steam, or itunes. Obviously there are pretty sensative moderation concerns but if done right it might help the giant bomb data be more accurate and get it updated faster.

Hi,

I've just released an iOS app for https://www.gamerankr.com, and late last year ported it over to source data from giantbomb (my old data provider was crap, and the giantbomb data is great!). GameRankr is simular to goodreads, but for video games instead of books.

Features:

-see updates from friends

-track games you want to play, have played, and are currently playing

-ratings and reviews

If you have any feedback please let me know!

-Michael

Another ‘disappearing’ piece of content on mobile is the status field on the user/wiki edits table. From my iphone, i can’t tell if my wiki edits have been accepted, or rejected, etc.

Thanks for responding. I know the wikipedia allows editing on mobile. I find it frustrating when i see a small error, and have to go boot up my laptop just to do a small change. I tend to disagree that editing isn’t feasable on mobile, but hey, it’s not my site.

Another related case study is yelp, they initially didn’t allow you to post reviews from a mobile app (i believe the thinking was that users are more ‘careful’ about typos on a ‘real’ computer), but after a couple of years they changed it so you can now add reviews from mobile devices.

I’m not able to edit wiki pages on mobile, looks like the edit link disappears on snaller width browsers. Is there a workaround other than: use a laptop?

Oh i see, i was zoomed in somehow, so zooming out fixed the issue. This is confusing, thanks for your help!

When i open the giantbomb.com homepage (using the most updated versino of safari on OSX), and most other pages, I get a mobile view (less features, giant photos, etc).

I don't see any links to open the desktop site. Clearing my cookies and restarting my browser haven't fixed this.

Thanks,

-Michael

Hi, I can't create new topics so sorry i'm rebooting this old discussion. (I get an error - must comment on three other topics first, so here goes).

I added another platform to the latest "Master of orion" game. (That game is playable on both mac and pc according to the steam page) and my edit hasn't been accepted yet. What's the deal here? do i have to post to the forum everytime i make an edit?

While I'm at it, I've got a bug to report. Browsing giant bomb on safari latest version only shows me the mobile version of the site. Where is the correct place to report this?

Best,

-Michael
