I'll be honest, I never played any of the Quake games as a kid. My PC gaming was limited to some Warcraft 2, LucasArts Star Wars stuff, Doom 1+2, and Duke Nukem 3D.
Anyway, I picked this up for PS5 and it's a blast to play. Glad I finally got around to it.
I'm in this in-between phase of "give it some time" and "I'm eager to know what's next" both for Giant Bomb and for the former staffers. And I can't go and watch old stuff right now, it feels too much like wallowing in the past. I'm just kinda stuck in neutral as far as my GB feelings are concerned. Not like, I don't care or something but more like I don't have a feeling and I have all the feelings. *sigh*
You nailed my sentiments perfectly. I'm excited to see where things go from here, but also don't really want to watch any recent stuff at the moment either. It's a weird feeling considering I've never met any of the staff or anything like that.
I really enjoyed my time with the demo on PS4 (server disconnects aside). My only issue is, I feel silly to go out and pay full price on PS4 since it's free on Game Pass (and I don't have XBox). I almost find myself trying to justify that I should wait for a sale down the road.
Loved Frequency, Amplitude, various RockBands, Guitar Hero and DJ Hero.
Is this for me? My only concern is that there isn't enough of a game, and I'm not creative enough to come up with cool stuff (granted, I can play the drums and a few instruments) but I always was always in cover bands growing up.
Holy cow! That Adema album art literally took me right back to Freshman year of high school in 2001 and thinking I was a bad ass for listening to them on the radio.
