@lonelyspacepanda: Tim Rogers definitely doesn't "just talk over footage" lmao. Those videos are odysseys, closer to mini series if anything in terms of topics and overall scope and style. We shouldn't point to him as evidence things work out - if anything he's a warning because season 1 almost killed him.

@dooz: The obvious answer is job security (although lol). It’s also especially hard to be your own boss if you’re of a particular moment in your life / personality / demographic and you’ve not had people around you to give good advice or support you in the transition.

If you’ve ever spent a year trying to figure out if you want to hop jobs, imagine that decision paralysis if you’re hopping from the knowable security of a 9-5 to making your own time.

If you’ve ever enjoyed a game in spite of a low review, and you still care or worry about reviews, you got some personal stuff you might need to work on ;) It’s all meta commentary that is sometimes useful and fun to read, but it shouldn’t be something you have a strong opinion about in either direction.

I always think back to my time with Fantasy Life... absolutely one of the best games I’ve ever played but it’s like a 70 on Metacritic, with a lot of 6/10’s. Didn’t let the commentary around that thing affect my time with it, I was having too good a time to care if someones opinion lines up with my own.

@lonelyspacepanda: A headsup of 2 weeks minimum seems like a reasonable thing to ask and literally wouldn’t cost them a cent if they managed it properly. This ghoulish, shock and awe tactic of giving an hours notice is pathetic and unjustified in 99.99% of cases.

It’s very clear given how many layoffs are happening at the moment there’s an adjustment going on in labour markets post pandemic and working from home. These online businesses are clearly trying to consolidate and wrest some control back. Don’t for a second try to give them the benefit of the doubt, there’s ways to do this humanely they’re choosing not to.

it’s obvious how much of the community would put those sub dollars into supporting a Patreon for a year instead. rather that than going to the pockets of some dead eyed suits.

It’s clearly curtains call, the remaining team need to leave with their dignity and start a Patreon or something. The chemistry of these folk is too good to let go to waste.

Sadly never. The tone was too dour, not a very "fun" game to hang out with, if that makes sense.

I assume you mean 11S? If so, it sadly has downgraded graphics from the original PS4 release because everything subsequent that is based on the Switch version. But as a trade you get greatly sped up battles, extra costumes, soundtrack changes, a bunch of new dungeons + quests, a (not great) 2D mode and various other quality of life stuff.

The graphical downgrade is sad as that PS4 version is beautiful and will be forever lost to time, but the faster battles alone are worth it imo and you get used to the downgrade eventually (game still looks great, but man that PS4 version...).
