Picked up for a fiver in the playstation January sale - Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is just about worth that price of admission. The sad part is, the original and even the sequel were still for the most part enjoyable games with some good set pieces, mechanics and story beats. Unfortunately all that seems to have gone out the window. The mechanics have even gone as far as to take a step back from 'the 40th day's'. Overall, it was average at best - which is a shame cause there were some moments of fun to be had. 5/10

Having loved Origins, Rayman Legends continues to build on the sucess of the last entry into the franchise and boy is the action in this one addicting. Everything just clicks and its an absolute joy to play. Rayman may at times be aimed at kids, but its adults who get to take full advantage of just how indepth and challenging this game truely is. 10/10

Having a bite size chunk of MGSV is rather torturous of Hideo Kojima. Not only does it offer insight into what will undoubtedly be high on all game of the year lists, it leaves you wanting so much more. What there is to play here, is phenominal and its only the smallest of samples to the main event that in my opinion can't come soon enough. As a fan of the series this is easily a 10/10, but I can see why this would be marked down for those new to the series who might feel a bit short changed on what is simply a preview to the main event.

Having been a fan of Infamous since the first outing of Cole on the PS3, Second Son was the game that forced me to 'make the leap' to the new generation of consoles. And I'm glad I did. Second Son is a gorgeous game and warrants the new consoles power behind it. The issue is, when you look beyond the visual eye candy, you're left with a game that at its core, is nothing that couldn't have been achieved on the PS3. The story, while engaging does run a little short and ends rather abruptly in my opinion. As a result, while I enjoyed my time with Infamous Second Son. I can't help but think they could have attempted to push the envelope a little more in terms of gameplay and ideas. 8/10

Outlast is a fast paced and rewarding horror game with a couple of good tricks up its sleeve for racking up the tension, the issue comes however when the same tricks are used over and over and soon, it leaves the tension a little lacking. The trial and error of sometimes fumbling your way through intense scenarios can completely kill the tension when you die and find yourself faced with a loading screen while all the nut jobs get back into place for the same chase over, only this time you'll know where you're going. I enjoyed my time with Outlast - I just found its ideas running a little thin with not much else to go on towards the end. All in however, the game is an atmospheric mystery that keeps you wanting more, even if it has a tendency to scare the crap out of you in the process. 8/10

I dropped AC IV early in the year when suddenly faced with the absolute fatigue of collecting so many collectables that I just asked myself 'why am I doing this?'. Getting back into the game a couple of weeks ago, I resumed the maddening task of collecting stones, maps and shantys. To it's credit even when you're not doing the main missions of AC IV you still feel as if you are progressing and time can disappear while you sail and plunder the seas. The story itself, is kind of hit and miss for me, I'm curious how many people even care about the over arching 'present day' time line and its bloated and unnecessary padding of this game with trivial 'walk to here' sections. I'd rather just play as a pirate and forget the 'meta' side of things entirely. The game is enjoyable but ultimatly too easy and lacking a challenge when you get to the combat especially. 7/10

Ever since watching GB's playthrough's of Persona 4, I knew I wanted to play the series. Over two years after excitedly purchasing Persona 3 Portable for my (at the time) new PS Vita, I have finally finished the game! There were various breaks over that time obviously, but I'm glad to say I had a blast with this. During that time, Persona 4 Golden came out - and I have to say, I'm ready to jump in and experience all that Golden has to offer - hopefully not on such a long playthrough cycle. 10/10

The Wolf Among Us was a fantastic experience and one that makes me hope for a season 2. Telltale games knock it out the park again, and its testiment to their story driven games when I rate them higher then many triple A games. 10/10

A decent fighting game that really helps capture the UFC but sadly featuring one of the most shallow and poorest experiences for a career mode I've ever played. Why introduce a career longivity meter when you cap players off at 40 matches even if they're champ, still winning and undeafted...its bull shit. 6/10

Overall, I think many of us fell for the over hype that was watch dogs. While enjoyable, the game failed to meet many of its promises. Above all else, I just found myself rather uninterested in the main story which is awful. There were moments of brilliance, moments that left me wanting more like them but sadly they were few and far between. A lackluster game that failed to meet the expectations 6/10

A replay of sorts having dropped the game at about the midway point previously. As much as I like Batman, as much as I like the combat of the Arkham games - I couldn't help but feel this game ran a little short. At the end I was just left wanting a whole lot more than I'd gotten out of the story. The Joker being the main villian is a tried and tested path for ALL the Arkham games, but I would have prefered if he hadn't of been the main villian once again. Give someone else more then five minutes in the spotlight, give me a joker story sure - but then give me other threats with just as must pomp and gradeur. When only about 30% of your progress is the main story - something feels very wrong. 7/10

Having thoroughly enjoyed Infamous Second Son and found Fetch to be one of the most interesting support characters introduced in the game, I was onboard for some DLC leading up to the events of Second Son. The DLC gives you a few hours of enjoyment, but sadly I felt it ran a little short and that was even with getting all the collectables. The story is good but a little on the simple side, and the missions aren't exactly innovative. If you enjoyed Second Son and are craving a bit more action - it's worth a look 7/10.

The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4 is the best looking game I have ever played. It puts all new games to shame when you consider this originally came out on PS3 and it manages to beat out everyone else, in presentation, graphics, voice work, gameplay - its fantastic on every level. Even having played it before on PS3, the game still felt incredibly fresh and is a testiment to how brilliant it is. 10/10

The Last of us: Left Behind - having never played this on the PS3, it was a bit of additional value added to the PS4 remastered version. Left Behind isn't the longest piece of additional content out there, but much like the game that came before it, it is a top notch on most every level. Sure there could have been a bit more to it - but it was a great experience to add as an addendum to The Last of us.

It's odd to buy a game for an enemey AI system above all else but that's exactly what happened with Shadow of Mordor. The nemesis system - within which Uruk's power struggles and your random encounters with them, create your enemies. The concept is great and can create some really unique encounters but I feel it still needs development. The main issue for me is that the story missions are rather basic and never go beyond the run of the mill actions required for completion. The story is neither here nor there and the combat system is a direct rip from the Arkham series. That's not to say i didn't enjoy my time with the game - and the combat although borrowed is loving utilised and the amount of enemies on screen at once can be rather impressive. If another game were to follow - it would need to focus on advancing the story and characters more than anything else imo. 8/10

As a fan of Avatar and as a fan of Platinum games, I knew I'd pick this up to support the prospects of both. And while Platinum has done a stella job on creating a combat engine for this game, everything else just falls a little short. Its sad when something like this has such a lack luster storyline. Its entire premise could fit on a postage stamp. While I had fun with the game, I'm left wondering what could have been if more confidence was placed in the brand and more time and money was put into the development of the game. Korra is a solid 6/10 - I just know it could have been something more.

A replay. The opportunity arose during a playstation store sale to pick up series 2 on the cheap. Having played the entirity of series 1 on xbox before, I had to pick up series one once again to have my choices carry over. Curiously I found myself sticking to most of my choices but also going off on a tanget to my original thoughts simply on a 'what if..' kick. The game still holds up incredibly well and leaves me swatted up on current events and ready to make a start on series 2 - I just hope Clementine remembers all the incredible advice Lee imparted to her - I think shes going to need it.

Having finally reached the end of Dragon Age Inquisition I can safely say it was one of my favourite games of 2014. The amount of content crammed into this game is incredible - and the lack of repeating dungeons ala Dragon Age 2 keeps all the content fresh and interesting. The story was fantastic but did unfortunately fizzle out with the last mission which was an absolute cake walk when compared to earlier boss encouters - but having fallen 80 hours deep into the world, its proof of how much fun the game can offer. Here's hoping some good chunks of DLC content or a sequel isn't far behind this fantastic entry into the series. 10/10
