The Great Game Stockpile

In an effort to clear out the massive pile of games I have accrued, I've forbidden myself purchasing anything new until this entire list has been beaten. Final impressions will be added to the games as I complete them

Note:This list does not include everything I bought during Steam sales, because I think we all have steam games we never intend on playing

List items

  • Way better than it has any right to be. Fun and incredibly stupid. Just what I want

  • See above. However it also has some really badly designed missions that go on for way too long

  • See above. Further cementing Platinum as the only developer that I have automatic interest in whatever they produce

  • Terrible.

  • Easily the worst of the LEGO games. There is very little adventure style playing in this game, and is instead focused almost entirely on poorly designed puzzles that require a lot of trial and error. These things used to be fun

  • Completely surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. Great characters and story telling. I feel bad for buying this cheap as everything I had seen from it beforehand did not appeal to me very much.

  • I'm not sure what it is, but I really don't like the feel of the control in this series. Nonetheless, the campaign amped up nicely, and unfortunately it ended in a wimper, not a bang.

  • Parts of it were really fun, and parts were really frustrating. Perhaps it was aggravated by the fact that the original save I had was deleted so I had to redo about 75% of the story missions over again, and seeing that much repetition was not a whole lot of fun.

  • So incredibly cute

  • Some interesting levels, but that melee combat it terrible. It seemed far more luck than skill based. Also, I don't know how these guys could ever claim with a straight face that this game was based on the books and not the movies.

  • Great game, but the boss fights were a bit of a letdown. Especially the final boss

  • A lot of fun even though the check pointing was terrible, and the grenades seemed to only be useful for team killing or suicide. They were fine as long as you only needed to throw them a couple of feet

  • Fixed a lot of the minor issues from the first, but just as good. Same problem with the final boss though. Also, kudos to them if they make 2 games instead of forcing a trilogy out of this

  • Tedious. That's the only way I can describe the first half of the game. The major draw was the art style, and that did a lot as each new chapter presented something totally different from the previous. However things seem to drag on a bit. Add in the fact that I really did not enjoy the combat, and trying to finish this for reasons other than seeing the story through to completion, made this a bit of a chore. That being said, I still enjoyed this game

  • I know that this is a drastic departure in style from the other SC games, but I enjoyed it. The AI is still kind of weak, and there's a lot of shooting lights out, but it's still quite fun. And the set pieces were a lot more enjoyable than those found in previous games. I just fear that this will make playing Double Agent almost unbearable

  • I started this game 4 years ago when it came out, but got tired of it quickly. It amazes me how much this series has improved since then. There were so many little annoyances beyond the usual complaint of this game being repetitive. However the story was more enjoyable than the second game.

  • Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It did remind me how much I love the rts genre, and how well this was done using a console control scheme. I just wish I was much better at them, because I pretty much have to play them on easy because I like to turtle and build huge armies, and most games don't actually want to be played that way

  • Razor can eat a dick! The first need for speed game that I ever played (I'm not going to count the Criterion game because it seems so drastically different in style and feel). It was alright, and I'm interested in trying out The Run when it comes out

  • This shouldn't really be on the list as I already finished it when it came out, but I got a PC copy at Christmas, so on it goes. Totally amazing game, and I can't wait for the sequel to come out

  • I really like this even though the single player campaign is kind of meh. I would never take this online because I seldom had any idea what I was doing or what was going on

  • After playing the following two games, this one is hard to pick up. The writing is ok, but the open-world jankiness is extremely high. Plus, locking progress behind the side missions is ruined by most of those side missions being unfun, hard to control or both

  • Pretty damn great

  • If people think that this game ruined the series, then I can't even imagine how grossly unplayable the earlier entries are

  • Fantastic. Great world and characters, great story, and boobs galore. I just wish that the quality of the cinematics was at the same level as the visuals. They weren't bad, but it seems like they could still be better. A lot of the dialogue didn't seem to flow very naturally during conversations and the action sometimes lacked punch. Still a great experience, even if a bit to fucking hard at the start

  • Redacted: Traded

  • Redacted: Traded in

  • Redacted: Traded in

  • Redacted: Either I traded it in or I lost it

  • Redacted: I hate this game. Anti-fun

  • Redacted: I do not like playing this game. It just doesn't click for me at all

  • Redacted: Way too hard. It's a great game, but I am just not good enough to finish it
