It feels to me like the PS4/XBO came out at an awkward time. The PS3/360 lingered on too long, but not quite long enough for consoles to hit that $400 price point and still be equipped to handle stuff like VR and 4K. It was redflags when games still couldn't pull off 1080p60 at the level of quality devs wanted, when even modest PCs were easily capable of it for years.
This has got to be a hard sell, with a sizable bulk of the core already owning a PS4 and anyone remotely performance-minded likely has a PC. And I happen to be both of those (Buy what I can on PC, but I gotta have my MLB/Uncharted/Blurays). I'm sure there's an in-betweener market for this, but it ain't me.
