Happy 30th Birthday Abby's Mom!
The voice acting gives me a real "We want this to be listenable to foreign audiences/We want to make it easier to match up the dub" vibe that just kind of makes the whole thing sound off.
I know its still early, and this is only a small look at the game, but I went from 'cautious optimism' to 'sad realization'. So, uh... Thanks, I guess.
Oh man, Quest 64 is the one game I think of when I remember the Blockbuster days. Solely because I remember renting it, hating it, and immediately taking it back to the store.
@matiaz_tapia: That's good to know. There was that initial reaction of "Oh, it's still this" when it came to the Scouts, but hearing things change up later is maybe the best reason to keep going I've heard so far.
Scouts are maybe the most broken class in VC, to the point where I'd say it kind of makes the game less interesting than it maybe should be. You could run through most maps in VC1 using them and capture the main base in a turn or two, and seems like the same can be said for this entry. The worst part is that the game's scoring system seems to expect you to do this for the most part, which makes it feel like you're being punished for actually trying to use other units or strategies.
I'm a few hours in and I'd probably agree with Alex on the bloat already. It feels like Ubisoft is using Odyssey to tweak systems they've had and test out how they work and fit together.
But I don't... Hate it. I've been a AC fanboy for a while though, and Origins rekindled my love for the franchise so I'm the exact person they were targeting, I think. At the very least I feel like I see what they're trying to do and I appreciate the effort and what progress they're making.
Always a highlight of E3. Thanks GB!
