I don't know if it's a matter of what you watched first, but I just can't get with the sub. I tried it once out of curiosity after having seen the dub multiple times, and it felt so weird that I couldn't finish the first episode. The dub voices and deliveries just fit so much better, especially given the show's heavy Western themes and references.

Easily the best Direct in a while, at least for me. Over the years, I've become less of a fan of video games in general and more of a fan of Nintendo and Nintendo-like experiences. This Direct definitely had the latter in spades.

I also love that we're clearly deep into the era of Nintendo games being made by people who grew up with Nintendo. Wonder appears to be a direct response to criticisms of the New Mario Bros. series, and the effort apparent in the new Peach game looks like something we never would've gotten 20 years ago.

In Grubb's defense, the game does have a loading screen tip mentioning the connection. Granted, I didn't see it pop up until after putting 60+ hours into the game, but there you go.

I double-dog dare Grubb to wear that pervert shirt during the night show interviews.

The sound mixing in this is pretty rough. Tam's too soft*, the game's too loud, and Dan's even louder.

*(I remember Tam being too soft in some early Jeff Jeff episodes, too. Maybe his setup is too low in general?)

Grubb and Mike are dressed like a Gen X couple enjoying a Sunday downtown, and I love it.

We need a game like this to come around every so often to remind us of how good we have it.

Damn fine work, Jan!

I hope I can figure out a way to go here at some point. I'm afraid of flying, and trains seem messy now. I'll probably end up saving up vacation time and doing the drive. Having my car there would at least give me some freedom, which in turn should help alleviate my travel anxiety.
