Well, you either need two soundcards or two outputs, and then you need to somehow assign a soundcard or output to each of the applications you are running. For example I know it's possible to listen to music through a set of speaker and have a conversation with someone through a headset with Ventrilo.

The only difference is the model/skin, it doesn't effect the guns performance at all. It is a preference thing. The only thing you'll gain is a quieter gun, which can be a benefit, since sound is so crucial in counter-strike.

You won't be missing much. You'll be able to choose for yourself, key factors that happened in ME1, if you start a new character. The only things you might miss is small references to sidequests in ME1.
