#8 in the rules. Bold added by me.

NO Commercial advertising: You may not advertise or sell any product or service on Giant Bomb. This includes, but is not limited to; developers creating threads to advertise their games, advertising fundraising for Kickstarters or other commercial products for personal gain, and advertisements of personal sites for personal gain (monetary or otherwise, this includes posts advertising personal podcasts and projects). This includes referral links. We’ll usually except posts from this rule if they’re intended to give away a beta or Steam key from an established community member.

I've noticed the chat is blowing up every time I open it. I go to https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/popout on Safari, Chrome, Firefox (all in incognito as well) and it all crashes my tab. It'll work for a few seconds and then freezes and then my browser asks to kill the process.

I'm having the same problem. Chat works for a few seconds then the page freezes. Someone needs to reboot their chat because I think I saw Will Carle reply to someone in chat that it's a memory leak problem and everything worked again for me after he rebooted it. I had to refresh chat after a while and now the leak is happening again. I've tried it on Chrome without extensions on both my old Win7 32 bit PC and 2011 MacBook Pro to no avail.

Same here. Have to constantly refresh the page to get the chat working again. I have my ad-blocker turned off and tried turning off HTTPS everywhere, which didn't solve anything. I've just chosen to turn the chat off.

Win7 64-bit latest version of Chrome.

I'm playing through The Witcher 3 for the first time and I'm trying to read all the things that I can.

Since they're going by thousands of a second, is there anymore one can do?

On another note, why is this thread deemed to be off-topic instead of a general discussion? Just so I'm a little clearer on forum rules.

Don't know if someone has told you already, but General Discussion is meant for GB site related stuff that's not bug reporting and general gaming that doesn't have a wiki page.
