Ooh, and one more thing, my actual favorite part of Warfarer may be that you can just equip any armor from any vocation. Especially in NG+ I don't really feel the need to only maximize for the highest defense, so I'm just equipping stuff that looks cool. Been running around with daggers while wearing this cool black sorcerer dress (the sorcerer in the Border Checkpoint Town gives it to you), so that's fun. It has an open back so I put some tattoos on my Arisen to go with the look, even.

@chaser324: I literally saw this today! Certainly funny to get two games so close together that have either real Hawaii, or fantasy Hawaii. And segways.

@cjduke: Thank you! Something I think about a fair amount is how upset the stockholders (apparently) were that CD Projekt decided to focus primarily on actually fixing the game (for free) instead of just pumping out more paid content. Like the game is still far from perfect on a technical level, but what few issues remain aren't that bad. They absolutely made the right choice to fix the game, and make it as good as it should have been, because the core was always worthwhile. You know, they can revamp the skills trees and other systems, fix bugs, those sorts of things, but as far as I know, the story is the story, that's been the same since day one (obviously not counting the new stuff from the expansion).

And yeah, it really does feel more like a real place than a level designed for a video game.

I think I told you this last year two years ago (it's 2024 now!) after I finished the game (and you were incredulous at the time), but as much as I love the Witcher games, I still think I like Cyberpunk 2077 more. Part of that is the (lower case c) cyberpunk type of setting appeals to me a bit more than the dark-ish fantasy of the Witcher, but I also think it's a better designed game in terms of combat, and all that.

@bed Thank you as always! I hope you enjoy the bunnies and I hope we both lose our minds (positively) for Infinite Wealth at the end of the month.

@bed: As I've been thinking a lot about this game, and thus to an extent Nintendo, I think I came to something of a realization of what the "Nintendo magic touch" is. When they're at their best, Nintendo games almost feel like what would happen if you took the more imaginative, out there ideas from indie studios, but then gave them the budget and resources of a AAA game. That's obviously not true for all their games, sometimes even Nintendo phones it in, but I think it feels true here.

And so far as what was known prior to release, about a month or so before release there was about a ten minute long game play video they released that I think had a very tiny bit of the building in it, but only very basic stuff. I do remember the Fusing in it, because at one point the person narrating it said, "I've Fused a mushroom to my shield!" That silly moment will live in my brain for some time to come.

I would say I expect there to be a flood of new building related games in the years to come. During one of the various video game trailers streams a while back, there was one that was about designing Martian rovers to deliver things like pizzas, and all I could think is that in the wake of TotK, this is the absolute best time to release a game like that. More people than ever before are primed for this sort of game, and I know I'm more interested than I ever would've been in playing something like that!

@bed: Thank you for having something so insightful to say!! I'm always happy when people enjoy what I write, but especially so if I got you to think something so meaningful. I hope you had a good time on that walk (or will if you haven't yet).

@noboners: To be honest, I hadn't really thought much about what might be in the DLC story wise. I didn't play the DLC for BotW, so I don't really know much about what was in it...Well, aside from reading up on Kass' wiki page the other day because I wanted to make sure he actually isn't in TotK. Something I was going to (and probably still will) bring up in a later Part is how I'm hoping the DLC is Kass focused, because how could they not bring back one of the most memorable characters from the last game???

@remixrunixlp: Googling "Shadow Hearts final boss" makes it sound like the game's final boss is "Meta-God," and I think the list of "games where the final boss is god" is a different, probably much longer list. But also I did not read too much into it so I dunno.
