This is as far as I got with them. They're pretty big (file size and resolution wise) , and should probably be cropped to fit the circle. I don't know how to do all that yet, so I'm leaving them here while I figure it out in case anyone else wants a go.
Edit: why did they get all slow-motion like that when I uploaded?
I got a raspberry pi 4 for Christmas, so I've been back on my shit, playing earthbound. I love that game so much.
That game is so good. I've been meaning to repurpose my RPi4 into a Retro Arch box kind of thing. Is that what you're using? What's the performance like for you?
So far I haven't directly played anything myself, but I finished off watching the last half of Penny Arcade's play through of Doki Doki Literature Club (a game I had given up on playing myself because feels), and god damn. That game is intense. Quite apart from the themes of the story (which I, as someone who is very much in the middle of a lot of the issues being portrayed, felt were very well executed), it is a prime example of what sets video games apart from literature and cinema as a story telling medium. Without spoiling anything actually related to the story the game toys with player perception (mixed with the unreliable narrator), and plays around with the physical realities of a PC game actually being a program installed on a hard drive...
Kind of to be expected, but still... yikes. Guess I won't be touching this.
You post a link to an article explaining why this is something that all Chinese developers are forced to comply with by their government, and yet you somehow still think "welp, better boycott this dev's game"...?
Chiming in here to say that I have a similar issue, which has been coming and going. About a few months (maybe 5-6 weeks) ago videos would sometimes start buffering, then playing 2 seconds, buffering, etc... Made it unwatchable, basically.
I was watching a Bombcast when it first happened, and decided to download it instead. Speeds started fine, almost maxing my line. But then it would get to 1.5GB downloaded (out of whatever the file size was, it was not relative to the file size), and the speeds would just plummet to around 100 kB/s.
I'm now having this exact issue again. It's 100% reproducible. Gif below, of downloading VinnyVania: Bloodstained: Part 07, which is what I was watching when the issue reappeared just now.
However, this is not an issue with all videos. The latest Hotspot downloads just fine at full speed. Meanwhile, VinnyVania: Bloodstained: Part 08 starts at slow speeds and never goes any higher. I can't find a pattern to which downloads are fine, and which aren't. Here we see VV Bloodstained 8 starting at abysmal speeds, while Hotspot starts at the expected speed.
I do not run a browser adblocker on GB.com. I do run a pihole DNS, but the issue persists even when I deactivate it (in which case it should be using the Google ECS DNS servers instead). I am in Norway, if that makes any difference. I'll answer any questions I can to help with this.
Picked this up on Steam after seeing that it was from the Sundered/Jotun people, while also a completely different style of game. I'm enjoying it so far. The writing is on point, both funny and interesting. The art is good. I keep accidentally hugging the cat.
