If a game doesn't give me a choice, the main character is overwhelmingly a man. So when I get a choice, I'll more often than not pick a woman to give some variety.
I stopped playing Apex after my best ever run. I thought I was going really well, had multiple revives and a couple of kills. I was feeling really good about it, and on the death screen noticed that my teammates had twitch gear on.
I realised they must have been streaming and thought "oh it'll be interesting to see my good run from another perspective". Turns out I was "Everything that was wrong with the game". I uninstalled the game after that not because they were dicks, but because I realised the way I liked to play wasn't the way that was the current meta, and the game would get tuned more towards that.
