I say Kratos. If you played the God of War trilogy you will know why. Every time he died he comes back. He dies near the end of GOW 1, at the beginning of GOW 2 and also in the beginning of 3.
Using the part of my brain marked "Sensemakery" and not "Red hot fanboy rage", it still very clear that Kratos would win and it wouldn't even be a fight.
" Jesus gods > Greek gods. Ergo the "Dante" from the video game would trump the other guy. All of this is stupid and they are both terrible characters. "
I agree wholeheartedly.
I still can't get over the fact THAT is what they made of the Divine Comedy. Such a powerful book containing most of Dante's philosophies, and they make it into some crappy hack and slash. What was the point of any of the game?
As for the topic, I don't really know or care who wins. Kratos is kinda lame and I haven't even played DI (tho I almost bought it on the weekend for 20 bucks)
The point? Videogame playing :) As for the topic, I don't really know or care who wins. Kratos is kinda lame and I haven't even played DI (tho I almost bought it on the weekend for 20 bucks) "
I mean, of the stories and characters. It's hard to take such a well thought-out and deep book and get rid of everything other than the names of things and having it set in this general idea of hell, bu they managed to do it.
@Frohman: I feel ya, but it was all about the setting.
I'm torn between my understanding of people who were upset about the bastardization of a classic piece of literature and my understanding of a developer thinking "holy shit this would make a sweet videogame world". :)
" Dante probably has some logical thought processes unlike Kratos who is just very, very angry. Kratos' meatheaded brain wouldn't be able to handle it. "
Kratos is actually fairly smart... he was the captain of the Spartan army... His anger is also sort of justified. What gives Dante the balls to travel down to hell and suddenly start ripping fools up. I never understood how a regular human could rape death.
